#tchncs now hosts a #ntfy push service. If you were already trying ntfy.sh with eg. Mastodon or Matrix but it didn't work, that's because the .sh instance blocks ip's after a certain amount of requests per minute. With https://push.tchncs.de, you can give it another shot.

Configurations such as quota/our own ratelimit are not final yet (but i try my best to make it fair)

Great! I'm using UnifiedPush for @apps

A list of subscribed topics like in #ntfy [1] would be great!
And maybe some way to test if UnifiedPush is successfully set up.
(maybe that should even be tested once a day in background)

Also could Conversations list in the server information if the XMPP server itself is a UnifiedPush proxy and can be used instead of up.conversations.im ?
(of that is technically possible)

I was surprised at my phone ringing last night, until I realised I got a real non-test push notification from the experimental fork of Nextcloud made by Niklas Reimer. It uses @unifiedpush in the #foss and @fdroidorg compatible version of Nextcloud, and notifications don't go through Google Services or the Nextcloud Push gateway.

Something very exciting is coming!

Are there any moves to get # to use a username and password? I've held off using it so far as the security of only using a topic name for # seems kind of iffy.

If you're new to UnifiedPush, the easiest way to get started is to install the 'ntfy' app (available on # and #) and open it once.

Then, any apps that support UnifiedPush ( https://unifiedpush.org/users/apps/ ) will be able to use UnifiedPush once the apps are restarted!

For more information regarding other distributor choices and self-hosting options, see https://unifiedpush.org/users/distributors/

The last version of #ntfy is a #unifiedpush distributor ! It will soon reach the @fdroidorg store. It is easy to use - just install it - and easy to self-host if you want to.
