I guess most interoperable from these is Element. You can use it both for daily communication with friends, and for work or working on projects. Most importantly you can self host it, so actually own your data, which is a big plus for it. Yet...for communication with friends I'd still choose Signal, as its more popular, has better performance and privacy mechanisms (in comparison to matrix public instance). Well and for journalists simplex definitely shines. So I'd say it all depends on purpose, but objectively Element has the ability to be any of those 3 if done right.
@delta and when talking about element don't forget to talk about the privacy leak everywhere in their system, and the fact that 90% of group are unencrypted allowing the server to follow talk without showing in the user list.
I could be thinking completely differently than where you are, but I would go for Matrix rather than Element. Element is cool, but it's the protocol behind it (Matrix) that truly makes Element interoperable. Without Matrix being an open and federated standard, Element would just be another closed chat app that doesn't allow people to speak with anyone unless they use Element. With Matrix I can speak not only to anyone on the Matrix network, but also a bunch of other bridged chat protocols. Incredible!
honestly an interoperable messenger has to be the fact that it can communicate across other servers and/or platforms, instead of covering just element, cover the matrix protocol, the underlying and see/cover docs.mau.fi/bridges/index.html and beeper.com/ (beeper uses Matrix for the underlying core too)

Here is my point of view: interoperability could be see at the low protocol level or a highter level, lets say at the 'service or company' level.
When today the EU talk about interoperability it's on the company level. Of course it's better if the protocol is the same or at least interoperable. But the real challenge here is to agree to collaborate.
You god a lot of response talking about protocols: matrix, xmpp or email. In my point of view that the easiest part of the interoperability, even if it already not simple.
And I was not aware that SimpleX is interoperable in any way!
I'm working on a project of service that use mainly xmpp to let us talk between xmpp, matrix and sip users ( mio.chat/en/ ;) )
keychat.io has encryption similar to signal but they purport to change keys per message instead of per thread in an attempt to make it even harder to reconstitute the thread should anyone attempt to recover it. Also, Keet is freaking awesome so far.
I keep hearing about #SimpleX but background checks on who is behind it go back to some random Russian guy based in London. Not the best recommendation for either company director or country of registration. There's claims that it's been audited but only by one company "Trail of Bits". Then there's SimpleX disclaimer which specifically states that it may be neither secure or safe. Doesn't instil confidence.

The paper, titled "A theoretical upper limit for offshore wind energy extraction" appeared a few days ago and looks at how well national policy goals align with physics. Below graph shows the problem for the Netherlands in particular: the policies aren't aligned with reality.

Translation: the planned 70 GW in offshore wind won't generate 370 TWh annually, but a mere 215 TWh. This 155 TWh drop is equivalent to twelve of the biggest nuclear power plants we can build today, the EPR.

I think most people would benefit more from instructions on how to change their browser's default search engine into @Qwant or something similar. Especially so now that @duckduckgo comes default in more privacy-focused browsers, but they've been jamming those useless "AI" features into their search and browser as well.
If you want, you can add an option for Google's search engine in your browser to results with no AI. You can do the same with DuckDuckGo. See both examples below in Firefox (in Dutch, but it's relatively straightforward in other languages).
After you have added these, you can delete the default search engine entries for both.
As far as I know, the procedure for Chromium-based browsers is broadly similar.

Konnte man vorher schon bei der Mobilitätsservicezentrale oder im Reisezentrum bekommen, aber jetzt auch direkt bei der Buchung. Man kann dann auch den Comfort-CheckIn benutzen.
Wie so oft wenn die Bahn irgendwas mit Barrierefreiheit macht, hat irgendjemand nur bis zur Hälfte darüber nachgedacht. Man muss die begleitende Assistenz jetzt schon mit Namen bei der Ticketbuchung angeben — das erschwert jede Planung massiv wenn man mehrere (auch berufliche) Assistenzen hat, die Personen nur eine Teilstrecke mitfahren/abwechseln müssen, etc.
Was vorher einfach flexibel ging, wurde jetzt in ein System festgegossen, in dem es wahrscheinlich nicht mehr reparierbar ist.
Es geschehen noch Zeichen und Wunder: Mit der neuen Version 25.22 des DB Navigator ist es jetzt möglich, als Person mit Schwerbehindertenausweis und Merkzeichen B in der App selbst kostenlose Reservierungen für sich und seine Begleitperson zu buchen. @FlippoFlip That is even worse then... so they have the real curl preinstalled but still invoke that slow and annoying piece of trash called Invoke-WebRequest. What's their reason for not just using a wrapper around curl that preserves Invoke-WebRequests interface and allows for curl options. Do they track usage of I-WR for monetization?
It is fixed. Powershell 7 (formerly Powershell 6 (formerly Powershell Core)), the current open source Powershell, has no curl alias. The problems is that Windows also still ships the old Powershell 5 which is frozen in time approx. Windows 8 era, and will never lose the curl alias. And it defaults to it.
@aliceif @runningrobderby well, they *could* obviously remove it if they wanted anyway. They however deem it a compatibility issue now so they won't. Some users might use it in scripts etc that could break.
What kind of idiot would alias to a command that doesn't support the same argument syntax as the alias name??
Oh dang, i now see this is Microsoft we're dealing with.. Okay in their defence they're REALLY bad at computer, nobody in the company ever took a comp sci course, so it isn't their fault.
And their users are equally dumb if using windows for big boy / big girl tasks. It's fine to ignore them when their curl alias "got broke", nothing can save them. Let them have the alias.
