This screen that #Google shows on #Android when installing #FDroid really bugs me. It is purely based on the integer value targetSdkVersion, without considering our security model, public audits results, track record over 10+ years, exclusive use of memory safe languages, or even what our code actually does. It is as if #FDroid marked anything that comes from Google as containing ads and trackers. 1/2

Commentary doesn’t get enough credit that it deserves (especially with North America) Android users.

At least

accessibleandroid.com/

always has the latest version of Jieshuo linked and has posts guides for it now, especially if ya don’t want to go the Telegram route for support.

required covid reading, if you think covid isn't a big deal: jessicawildfire.substack.com/p…

For the last three years, we were told that children don’t need to worry about Covid. That’s turning out to be one of the biggest lies of the pandemic, right up there with “herd immunity” and “masks don’t work.”

Research from the CDC has shown that 49 percent of children hospitalized with Covid last year didn’t have any underlying medical conditions. A study in Clinical Immunology shows that children’s immune systems don’t remember Covid. They don’t adapt. Each time they get sick, it’s like a brand new infection. Another study in PLOS ONE shows that mental health problems in children have doubled since the start of the pandemic, and that Long Covid is playing an under-examined role. The information gathered over the last year shows conclusively that children are no safer from Covid than adults.

#AudioMo On the afternoon of November 7, 2014, I was at Clearwater Beach, Florida, when I decided to stand in the surf with my Zoom H6 and it's X/Y microphone capsules, and recorded a few minutes of the ocean waves.
It wasn't a particularly nice day, kind of overcast, windy and a bit cold for the time of year.

The training course, Reaping The Benefits, Using REAPER with JAWS for Windows, has been updated.
1. The original training course was produced in 2021. The vast majority of topics and exercises were still current in 2023. However, some sections have been updated to include keystroke changes and additional points of clarification. Both the audio files and text transcripts have been updated.
2. A DAISY audio book of all the lessons is now provided.
3. Anyone who has retained their login information, sent at the time of purchase, will be able to download the new material at no additional cost. The original Email sent at the time of purchase invites a purchaser to retain the login information for future reference.
4. Should any purchases be made of this training course, we invite anyone to consult the heading on the below page entitled "Special Notes". This leaves the reader in absolutely no doubt as to what is (and is not) provided within a training course archive. Such information has always been documented on our Training course web page but it has been made even clearer. hartgen.org/reaper

Much of your blog post rings true, and I empathize.

Some of it is also false and unhelpful, for example calling the CVE system worthless. Such statements make me (the casual reader with no stake in the debate) appreciate and trust the blog post a bit less.

Maybe we should all take a crash course in nonviolent communication, to become better people and handle such situations better in the future? :)

There's a Fediverse alternative to #Reddit called #Kbin. More info at kbin.pub

Still VERY new, not many servers yet, two so far in English:

fedia.io
kbin.social

No app yet, use it through these sites. Subreddits are called "Magazines". You can interact with magazines from other servers.

Coders help Kbin at codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core, non-coders donate at buymeacoffee.com/kbin

(Sorry to people bored of this, had many requests to put info in one place)

Poland has vetoed an EU statement on the safety of LGBT people, arguing that it “privileges homosexuals” while ignoring crimes against Christians.

It also opposed an EU directive on combating violence against women because of its use of the term “gender”.
