Google’s New Rules Could Threaten Sideloading And Accessibility Along With It - Accessible Android
For many users, Android’s openness has long been a key advantage: the ability to install (or “side-load”) apps from outside the Google Play Store, or to useAmir Soleimani (Accessible Android)
TIL that while there is a unicode superscript character for trademarks ( ™ ) there isn't one for latin ordinal indicators. E.g. There's no "st" superscript character to use with 1st.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordinal_…
BUT, there ARE "minuscule" superscript characters of the full English alphabet (tough shit if your language needs diacritics over letters i guess 🤷♀️)
So, you can fake "1st" with those but the font handling isn't great: 1ˢᵗ, 2ⁿᵈ, 3ʳᵈ, 4ᵗʰ…

@matt oh Jesus Christ. I figured they were literally just minuscule Latin letters so "of course" they'd be handled just like any other Latin letter? But no. 🤦♀️
Just listened with macOS voiceover and it completely skipped over them as if they weren't there. What the absolute fuck?
So many WTFs.
Also just learned that it says "misspelled" before every word that's spelled correctly but not capitalized correctly. That's fun. 😡
(gonna go have to edit the alt text to the screenshot i just added)

Thank you for the response! I might make the switch.
We had contact a while ago. It was about the "Deutschlandticket" in Germany. I promised you a feedback. It works with Catima. I got the ticket here as a PDF file and as a pkpass file:
vrs-ticketshop.de/Deutschlandt…
I have to readd it in the app every month, but that is no big problem.
VRS-Ticketshop | Deutschlandticket | purchase online
I would expect that readding to be fixable, the pkpass probably contains an URL to get updates from. But I haven't really looked into that much more deeply: github.com/CatimaLoyalty/Andro…
Glad to hear it works with workaround though

My quick guess? I could be wrong, but:
I think they probably think this drama is in their best interest.
It certainly gives the appearance that the Republicans are not fully in control, even though they are.
The general public will probably think it's business as usual, and that the Democrats are "at fault" for not "working together" and so on. 😖
The primary reason why I asked was because LMMS got an offer for a partnership on Muse Hub, and we were discussing it on their Discord server. I then decided to look at Muse Hub myself and then discovered Mixxx on Muse Hub.
From the Discord server, it appears that someone from MuseHub is looking into it. I don't know if you'll get contacted again or what but I thought I'd let you all know what's going on.
It looks like Muse has updated Mixxx to the latest version, so that's nice to see. The linked manual is still old, though.
We do sign our Windows installer, so it's possible to confirm if that's been modified. Our other installers take a little more work to compare SHA values or otherwise determine if they match our builds.

So I guess I need to ATIP this so that I can show how much bullshit it is. It's not "Canadian based" nor safe if it is owned by American oligarchs.

What was the error rate? And how much did it cost to fix those errors? If they don't say it's because it's bad.

While #chatcontrol poses an existential threat to the Freiburg merlinux GmbH and distributing #deltachat apps from within the EU to all stores worldwide, it would resist any chatcontrol legislation up to the German constitutional and EuGH courts.
If the EU based company would need to fold in a few years, there would likely be forks distributed outside the EU that will *seamlessly* continue to function. Our architecture and FOSS licensing makes sure of it. See also chaos.social/@delta/1134177407…

When I heard of the digital Pokemon TCG, I was like, "That sounds like all the downsides and none of the positives because I don't get cards with nice art at the end of it." (Ignoring the fact that many Pokemon cards are generic 3D renders that a fan could make anyway.)
Apparently there is a new "collection" in this TCG app that is just a repeat of a bunch of cards from a previous collection, and I found out about it from a YouTube video calling this a "scam". But really, I think fucking up the satisfaction of collecting stuff is a good thing to stop people with gambling impulses.
Collecting stuff is red flag behaviour if the stuff you're collecting was meant to be collected. As in, it's a red flag that you love marketing and I will dislike you. But even a garbage collection like funko-pops or physical cards is eventually cool once the company is gone – a digital TCG collection will stop existing before it ever becomes cool.

I've been thinking (and that's not good for anyone and everyone should be holding their breath) about media consumption patterns over time, and how those shifting patterns in consumer habits have shaped culture.
This might be an Old Man yells at clouds moment, but I think there's likely something to it.
I'll try to coalesce the things I'm thinking into coherent words.
