@kl1964 It's interesting to me that people do that; it's just not something I've ever gotten myself into the habit of doing. I'll go to youtube if someone sends me a link, or I might look for a song and use yt-dlp, but I just don't think of it as a place where I'd go to browse videos, and I don't even know if I'd know how to do it. I guess I could open the app and start there. To be clear, I'm not saying that I don't do my own things to waste time (playing certain games, for instance).
@MikeGorse It’s a bad habit I’ve had going back a long time. Almost certainly it tracks with my level of overall depression. And of course the algorithm knows exactly what to show me.
So, it turns out that my printer is no longer eligible for frimware upgrades. The current firmware can no longer phone home (uses outdated TLS). Since it cannot phone home, it cannot use my subscription-based (DRM) cartridges.
My choices to stay in the same ecosystem are: - Buy new DRM-free cartridges - Buy a new printer with newer firmware
To further set my replies on fire, "disk" is not short for "diskette" (diskette is a diminutive and means "small disk").
Diskettes first showed up in 8" size, which may not seem particularly small but hard disks at the time were larger, often 14 inches (more than 3× the surface area of 8").
The 5¼" diskettes that followed were introduced as "mini-diskettes", or "small small disks".
3½" diskettes were "micro-diskettes", or "very small small disks".
When I started it IT, we used RL02 drives. They were the size of a washing machine, and if they got out of balance they could start to walk across the (raised) floor. Some people would take old disk packs apart and use the platters to make wall clocks.
I used RL02 as well as the RL01. PDP11 days. I remember seeing a 300MB drive elsewhere. It was huge. I was lucky enough to see the tech take out the voice coil after a disk crash(!) It was as big as my arm. Yes we used to walk diskdrives across floors with the right program on purpose. They really needed to be bolted down. eh?

On the server side there is a directory that stores contacts and calendars in vcard/ical format. This davx5.com/tested-with/ shows some examples. If the server is able to provide these data via the CalDAV and CardDAV protocol you can use our app to sync it down to your Android device.

Oh god. A friend of mine and her hubby have been plotting to sell their holiday home, plans that will fund a gentle but lovely retirement. Three weeks ago, the day after they did the budget she awoke hearing him very upset - he was looking at his trousers and couldn’t remember what do do with them.
Long story short, he has been in hospital ever since, rapid decline, he no longer recognises her and has ‘rapid onset dimentia”. From normal husband to completely unable to function in three weeks.
