Excluyentes pueden ser los dos. Hoy en día diría que el centralista es algo más peligroso pero todo depende del momento. En general el tema de banderas y mezclar el pasaporte con el folklore o tener que defender determinadas ideas históricamente insostenibles me da bastante mal rollo, así que me quedo fuera de ambos.

Pokaždé sice jiný system, ale vždy kompletně on-line, prohlaseni pomoci ID, mobile-id nebo smart-id. Pokaždé se z registru provázal synek a k němu jsem si mohl vybrat 3 školky v pořadí preference. V době jednání na jedné z nich, v našem případě hned v té první dostal místo a my e-mail o vyřízení. Hotovo

I mainly use Calc, with a lot of data imported from multiple .csv files, then aggregated in a separate sheet via expressions, and set up to be filtered. I must say, #LibreOffice is faster handling lots of data than E***l. That is only one of the reasons I like to use the suite.
I love #LibreOffice because of its wide range of uses and its high compatiblity; LO is a great Libre Software which works very well on GNU/Linux. I'm using it daily since i switched from Win** to Debian some years ago
I love #LibreOffice because it's free. It's not that I wouldn't pay for it (I do sometimes), but because it's free, installation is so simple. Never have to worry about licenses, using it on multiple computers, moving to a new OS, whatever. I really grinds my gears why many home users still prefer a pirated you know what.

I use #LibreOffice simply because it's free software that just works. And works well. I can install it on every device and OS, producing documents in open formats that will work forever without depending on a specific suite or developer will. Furthermore, LibreOffice has a fantastic community to interact with and ask questions to receive actual help and suggestions. Thanks for the great work! :heart:
I love #Libreoffice for a number of reasons: Because it is completely #FreeSoftware. Because I don't have to pay for its full version. Because it is no Cloud stuff. Because it is fully GDPR-compliant, while MSh*it isn't. Because it is simpler to use LibreOffice than doing everything in #LaTex. The #LibreOffice suite is one of my most important tools since my school days. You helped me to reach university.
I extremely dislike MS everything. I had been using a cloud based suite attached to my email. What I really needed was a robust suite that I can use offline that won't make my computer lag and is readable by most of the world. I found it in #LibreOffice and absolutely love it! 💕
I love #LibreOffice because it's just works, and works great as well! It don't have features I don't need, like cloud service. And it is a #freesoftware.

I love #LibreOffice for the ease of use, the richer features, the consistent media alignment and reliable SVG support, open document format, easy to install, easy to distribute, most consistent multi-platform experience, great documentation with real-world examples, helpful community and there's no stupid subscription! I prefer donating and have several times. Going to again later this week.

@ellabellafull save for the parts related to it being a gratis software, my experience is quite the opposite. When you say richer features, what are you comparing it to and what features do you mean?
@ellabellafull there is no way to search for functions like in windows, impress has none of the autoalign features, writer randomly crashes. Unfortunately, I can not make it crash reliably, so no bug report. Also, calc can't open 100mb CSV even with 32gb of ram. Don't get me wrong it's still my goto sofware, I don't like the idea that a company could lock me away from my docs any day without warning.
@Bindestriche I admit to having never used Impressed and I see what you mean about the missing alignment guides. Sure, I can select a group of objects and right click to align or distribute, but the visual cues would definitely be fewer steps.
There is a grid alignment feature at least.

For anyone interested in technology history. We were talking the other evening about the Grizzly Gulch game from Bavisoft. Here is my audio review of that recorded at the time. Interesting points to note: 1. I was not a great game player at the time and am still not, and I seemed to have grasped the essential concepts of it quite well. 2. For the curious, this review was recorded and edited using my Marantz tape deck directly onto a C90 cassette. Audio production on a computer was not quick enough at that time. Hmm, and regarding the UTF-8 URLs, IIRC there was a big debate in the mailing list about whether or not clients should punycode IDNs, or transcode them to a different encoding, or just verbatim pass all URLs; and Solderpunk decided to just UTF-8 encode all URLs over the wire which is IMO not any better and possibly worse. Introduces lots of complexity: should clients normalize the Unicode (IME more complex and difficult than punycoding), and if so with what strategy? Should you still percent-encode the path or can you now leave that unencoded too? Lots of issues.

Thanks for the comment. I fully understand that my views and opinions may not align very well with many of the people in and fans of the Gemini project.
I love Gemini to bits, and I host my own server and everything, but the fact TLS is a REQUIREMENT from Day 1 has kinda bugged me to be honest.
If I were to write my own Gemini client (which is supposed to be 'easy') then I'd have to have all the crypto bits in place before I can ensure my code is on the right track to verify I can even make a proper connection at all. I guess I owe it to myself to be better acquainted with TLS in practice, but, meh, I wish I didn't NEED to.
Also, Gemini feels like a PERFECT FIT for retro computers to disseminate and consume information over the internet... except the TLS bits make it out of reach! I would love to be able to surf across Gemini on my old Atari ST, but with only 1 MB of RAM and a 8MHz CPU I'm not sure how feasible that is without some kind of proxy -- which you correctly state in your article has problems in itself.

I do not get your point about utf8 in URI. There was a big debate on utf8 in domain part and wether to punycode, which I kind of lost I think, but for the path part I do not see the ambiguity, you encode as utf8. and percent escaping is also allowed. But you take an example where you have data and you do not know its encoding, then it's useless data, no? If you have to guess encoding it means a non-utf8 uri would not have helped, the guessing would have happenned on server side?
I do not see how it can be used then. If you have data without knowing the charset you cannot use it. I find it quite sane that Gemini makes it clear it's always utf-8.
It reads like you spent more time critiquing the spec than the developers spent implementing it. It rings of “but my protocol will be cooler and more exclusive” while ignoring why we have the current state. Gemini would be better off as a subset of the current web (http+tls+their silly media format). I have similar concerns around IPFS, where the p2p and content-addressed URIs encourage vs avoid censorship and surveillance (also the p2p base protocol is a free ddos net, wee).
@hdm someone proposes we should support Gemini in curl. I take the time to read and understand the protocol (to understand that task better). As a consequence, I find flaws and errors in the spec and write them down in a blog post.
