With a bit of help from #phoc the next phosh-osk-stub release can (optionally) hide when a keyboard gets attached.

Ability to easily build custom keyboard layouts is really awesome.

Thanks you @agx

It’s not just the Librem 5’s or The Liberty Phone hardware that’s modular. The OS itself is incredibly modular and fully editable to your will. Our defaults and preinstalled apps are well thought out and secure, but it’s just our suggestion of software to use, not a requirement by any means.

Last week I finished my fake/example/reference linux #UnifiedPush distributor written in rust.
This week I started at looking into implementing a distributor with ntfy.sh, I am currently unsure about integrating into an existing app like Notify or building a separate application.
You can find my progress here: https://gitlab.com/j0dev/rust/up_ntfy_distributor
I am also looking into a DBus api to manage/configure a distributor for integration into desktop environments like #Gnome / #Phosh.

@dino 0.4.3 just got released with some exciting improvements for #LinuxMobile

3. The app is now recognized as mobile friendly on #Phosh
4. Stricter #Flatpak sandbox - no device/all any more

The new version is available on #Flathub and lots of distro repos.

!Friendica Support

Bit of a an odd mood to today so wanted to check if I can brighten things up a bit by adding some color and transparency to #phosh. (Basically just a quick hack to see how the performance is on the #librem5 and it's quite good). Background image by @francois .

I felt a bit bad since I didn't show #phosh's overview in the above (which was totally broken at that point). So I did a quick stab yesterday to hack the missing bits in. It's usable now (still mostly a hack to get into the design discussion with @purism 's designers):

phosh-osk-stub will soon be able to turn on completion opportunistically: When the text-input has the "completion" hint set it's turned on, otherwise it defaults to off. E.g. it's disabled in #chatty's search field but automatically switched on in the chat view :

📱 On my way to # and it was the first time I could show the QR code of a train ticket on #'s lockscreen to the conductor (had to resort to unlock ➡️ nautilus ➡️ evince so far).

For that I stitched together a lockscren plugin that leverages #'s libevince. Hope the other tickets will works just as well tomorrow.

Q3 2019 must finally be upon us, because my # showed up in the mail yesterday!

Four and a half year wait aside, though, I've already been using # on various iterations of # for the last couple of years and I'm glad to finally get my hands on some @purism hardware too.

Heads up: phosh-osk-stub moved out of #phosh's repo and to: https://gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/phosh-osk-stub as it acquired more and more cruft while debugging some (now fixed) touch input related issues in #gtk 4.

Mostly mentioning it here since some distros (such as #debian) used it in the past on architectures that had trouble building #rust to fulfill session dependencies (which is not an issue anymore nowadays) so it can safely be dropped.

We'll be having a (virtual) #phosh contributors get together at #fosdem2022 this Sunday. The jitsi room can likely handle some more people so if you're a #phosh contributor (designer, translator, bug reporter, developer, distribution packager, …) and want to meet the other folks just sign up at https://fosdem.org/2022/schedule/event/mobile_phosh/

See you there!
