I’ve written 6 so far, and there’s more to come! Plenty of WIP drafts to finish 🙂
This really plays to my strengths, combining my love for
- writing,
- improving OpenStreetMap, free data, and freedom-respecting software,
- reviewing (as a child, I liked to review the theatre I watched with my parents…my parents and their theatre friends would often ask me for my review after the show, and would listen to me intently 🥺)
- …and trying new things to eat and drink!

PS MapComplete currently removes all line breaks from the reviews it displays (which breaks things like paragraphs and bullet lists), and Mangrove Reviews truncates the text of the reviews it displays. So there’s no perfect way to view the reviews right now…I’ve let the developers know about these issues and they will hopefully fix them soon.

I really like the idea of, instead of collaborating on a document via (for example) Google's servers and Google Docs, being able to have collaborators' computers talk to each other directly and share edits that way.
I really hope that "local-first" gains at least the sort of steam the FOSS movement has — as I've seen people comment, FOSS doesn't help if your computation is happening on someone else's computer.

I'm using #inkscape and needing to limit my colors for screenprinting. Is there any #libre #openSource software that takes an svg design and does something akin to the Newsprint plugin in #gimp to prep for screenprinting with 4 colors? docs.gimp.org/2.10/en/plug-in-…

The free open source livestreaming platform OwnCast has set up a demo server at:
It currently runs a loop of videos by people who self-host their livestreams using OwnCast, along with short videos promoting other libre projects.
If you run a free open project and have a short video (under 1 minute), you can have it added to this loop by contacting @owncast.
OwnCast servers include Fediverse compatibility, so you can follow them from Mastodon etc. When a stream you follow goes live, you'll see a message telling you about it in your timeline.

Thanks to the beautiful @play0ad screenshots I got to have a great chat with my 10 year old nephew about #foss and #3dmodeling.
