Global hotkeys on Windows need Autohotkey for now as far as I can tell, I was building the program on Linux so the Microsoft platform got somewhat minor attention. But the sync mode does work, so you can use tools like AHK to make it working. I will try to fix it, though feedback from Windows users on this would be definitely appreciated!

ever since Be my AI demonstrated the capabilities of GPT 4 for understanding the content of images, which is not a single bit less impressive than its textual abilities, I was looking forward to having an API I could use.
Because this brings awesome potential for various use-cases, though also for economical reasons, Be my AI is not on Android yet and I can't really afford spending $20 monthly on a ChatGPT + subscription.
Few days ago, OpenAI finally introduced a vision API, and here is my really simple, but working Be my AI in terminal:

Note: Uploading images can take a while, though if it apparently takes too long, it's likely frozen, OpenAI is dealing with a lot of demand after their dev conference on six-th November, so chatGPT is down from time to time. My script is not very well prepared for this at this moment, I may add proper timeouts and retry options if it becomes too big of an issue, though I rather expect things to calm down again as things get resolved on the OpenAI side.

A couple of days ago at work we announced the Steam Deck OLED. It’s available next week (Nov 16) and though it’s got a bunch of great improvements like longer battery life, faster downloads, the star is the ultra-bright HDR OLED screen.
The screens are ridiculously bright and vibrant, so we thought it would be fun to use actual Steam Deck OLEDs as lighting sources to light our entire launch trailer.
Of course this necessitated building a giant metal orb. First though, here’s the final spot:

I can’t even begin to tell you what a massive improvement it is for my mental health that there is now an Indonesian coffee shop near where I live in SF; that PLAYS LAGU GALAU (emo Indonesian music; one of my major music genres!)
It just opened, and.. hearing this music, and this language, around me in a place where I sometimes feel unmoored and far from home, is just a godsend.
Indonesia has the most interesting coffee scene I’ve seen. Not only are they one of the largest producers of coffee, their beans are so diverse (from Bali Kintamani to Aceh Gayo, and Sulawesi / Toraja beans, they each come from different islands; islands that are bigger than entire countries, with different soil, elevation..)
Local brewing styles plus Aussie craft cafe inspiration: I have been desperately missing this coffee scene and I’m so glad there is now ONE place for me here.
Also, for people who don’t really like v acidic coffee roasts that SF cafes seem to favor: Indonesian coffees are not usually as ‘bright’ and ‘acidic’. These tend to be the beans from Africa.
The beans at Kopiku: Bali Kintamani, Aceh Gayo, Sulawesi Toraja, which are the big ones. Their beans come from Beaneka, a related business.
In the past I would have to go out of my way to look for third wave coffee with Indonesian beans. Even then they’d only have one.

Das hier ist aktiviert:
Aktiviere diese Einstellung, wenn du von anderen einfach gefunden und gefolgt werden möchtest. Dei Profil wird dann auf anderen Systemen leicht durchsuchbar. Außerdem regelt diese Einstellung ob Friendica Suchmaschinen mitteilen soll, ob dein Profil indiziert werden soll oder nicht. Dein Profil wird auch in den globalen Friendica Verzeichnissen (z.B. dir.friendica.social) veröffentlicht werden.
Trotzdem ist mein Profil nicht zu finden 🤷♂️
Wie lange dauert das denn, oder muss man noch was anderes dafür tun?

Wobei es auch interessant ist zu wissen, inwieweit man über die Standard-Suche von anderen Instanzen aus gefunden werden kann.

Hm, ich habe mal von hier relaylist.com/ 8 Relays eingetragen.
Es werden mir unter Administration --> Seite --> Relays nur 4 angezeigt 🤷♂️

ich musste jetzt feststellen, dass diese Relays für einen extremen Anstieg der Serverload sorgen. Vielleicht waren, obwohl im Backend nur 4 Relays angezeigt wurden alle 8 aktiv, die ich über die Konsole hinzugefügt habe und vielleicht sind mehr als 1-2 Relays zu viel des Guten, aber die Load ging auf fast 100, als ich vorhin in kurzer Zeit viel geliked, geteilt und ein paar Posts geschrieben habe.
Nach Entfernen aller Relays dümpelt die Load wieder bei < 1.

Bezüglich Load und Loadanstieg habe ich auch keinen Vergleich, da ich auf Mastodon ja nicht auf einem selbst gehosteten Server war.
De facto ist die Nutzung von Mastodon in Apps aber deutlich flüssiger als Friendica. Das betrifft das Nachladen in der Timeline als auch das Liken und Teilen. Bei Mastodon kann ich im Sekundentakt liken und teilen, bei Friendica kommt da in den Apps "Es ist ein Fehler aufgetreten" und auch die Load steigt an (wenn auch bei Weitem nicht annähernd so wie mit den Relays).
Vielleicht ließe sich mein Server noch in der Perfomance optimieren, aber ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob das nicht auch an Friendica selbst liegt.
Vielleicht teste ich doch mal noch Mastodon auf dem eigenen Server... 🤔

Nein, kannte ich bislang nicht.
Friendica kann man mit Tusky und Fedilab schon nutzen. Aber wie gesagt: Da kommen immer wieder Fehlermeldungen, wenn man schnell liked oder teilt, und das Laden ist mit gewissen Wartezeiten verbunden.
Kann natürlich auch an meiner Instanz liegen, dass die trotz nochmal neu aufsetzen nicht optimal performant läuft. Allerdings wüsste ich nicht, wo da noch viel rauszuholen wäre.
