New Keynote voice in training again while I work! I used Distil-large-V3 as the model (v2 had more repeated words) and re-transcribed all the text, which took me about 90 minutes before my workday to do, also undoing about 3 hours of weekend work in the process as the alignments had changed. However: The Distil-large-V2 or V3 models do much better at speed and both alignment. also read this report: hub.zenoml.com/report/1123/Com…

Gut so!

Pretty excited about LLMs being applied for incident response.

Hi @matt 👋

Yesterday in #LibrePlanet chat I named the #Makepad project, a real adorable 😍 effort that's still lacking on the #a11y side, i.e. could do with some #AccessKit on board.

Today I found out that Makepad is apparently part of a #Rust appdev effort, called #Robius. Another project here is #Dioxus.. also in for @accesskit #accessiblity support.. maybe. 🤔

Robius looks like a very loose conglomeration of independent projects. Maybe AccessKit is even a fit to it?

Verkehrswende in Äthiopien

OpenAI, Mircosoft, and Google together kill the open web. Thousands of independent blogs and forums are now nowhere in search engines or pushed back to page two to support their AI and partnerships with Reddit, StackOverflow, and more. Many humans contributed to these sites hoping to build a knowledge base for humanity, but now greedy people like Sama and OpenAI are taking over everything.

On the issue of excessive RGB LEDs in computer parts actually being potentially significantly detrimental, I dug up this old video as an extreme example for you:
youtube.com/watch?v=vnST5rA64O…
THAT level is of course unusual, but the principle is constant... as is the co$tly electric power usage of the LEDs which in most scenarios you wouldn't even be looking at during normal circumstances anyway, or may even just distract you from what you intended to be using the computer for, whether gaming, productivity or otherwise.
LEDs should be located in your computer monitor/display, computer case power-on/storage-activity lights and motherboard error-indicators and that's it, is my opinion.

Pretty common mistake when building desktop computers is power supply unit (PSU) dimensioning.
We want to have as high power conversion efficiency as possible so the electricity you get from the wall outlet and pay for is actually delivered to motherboard, etc instead of just converted to heat.
Easiest by looking for high "80 PLUS"-rating, from "white" at at least 82% efficiency at 100% load on 230 volts but no efficiency required at 10% load (idle, most time) then 85% efficiency at 50% load while highest level "titanium" PSU must be 90% efficient at 10% load while 96% at 50% load and 94% at 100% load.

The problem?
Often people way oversize PSU capacity, compared to what the computer is even capable of using.
Pretty normal desktops use like 300-500 watts at peak, but people see extreme builds at 1300 or more watts for current most power-hungry CPU+GPU and figure "I'll margin for if I upgrade" so get 1300 or more watt PSU then go years without upgrades happening just throwing away maybe 15% of power input to PSU, which builds up to a significant cost per year (I believe $20-30/year in low power cost USA) discarded to pure inefficiency which you could've spent on something else than just more climate change.
Should have a margin, ofc, but reasonable.
Good "80 PLUS" rating matters most though.

@autkin Thank you for the application first,👏 and I hope that it will always be open source and that there is a free version for those who cannot purchase the paid version. If the number of downloads from the f-droid store and the fork versions based on it were included, the statistics would be much larger.
