I have started writing a new KaiOS app. With the app you can search for climbing routes and then enter the routes you have made in a logbook. The data comes from openbeta.io, a freely available climbing route database with a very active community. A live version of the app -> pictick.strukturart.com #KaiOS #climbing

I recently learnt that @Codeberg has its own badge generator to let you make custom "Get it on Codeberg" badges! :codeberg:

Thanks to it being under an open licence, I was able to remix it for the #BananaHackers store for #KaiOS, which has so far been lacking a badge 🍌

Just "released" the first usable version of #Convo, an #XMPP messaging app for #KaiOS and #JioPhone feature phones! :xmpp:

I was hoping to release a more complete version as 1.0, but that's taking a while, and people are already starting to use it as it is (especially with the impending shuttering of #WhatsApp on KaiOS) so I decided to get this out right away 📦

I've also submitted to the #BananaStore, so hopefully it should be out there soon 🍌

@Musharraf :verified: @Cullen Gallagher I think back in the days when @Mozilla was calling it #b2g (Boot to Gecko). They have experimented with #picoTTS voices. The built-in screen reader is called readout.
Now I know there are some interesting apps for #KaiOS such as matrix client, xmpp client, telegram client, RSS / podcasts, Youtube playback through invidious, openstreetmap, kodi remote control, ebooks / text files reading app and more. See at kaios.dev/2024/01/kaios-open-s…
It would be nice to find out how much #a11y there is with a #screenReader.
