Hi @NVAccess if possible in a future in prossess blog, could you tell us how to interact with split buttons on windows? For example when a windows update requires restart, the button is a split button. The default action is to restart the machine, but I think there are more options to it and I am not sure how to find them. Somebody told me in the past but I don't remember. I couldn't find anything online. If I type split buttons, I get the buttons for split screen etc.

The World #Blind Union General Assembly and World #Blindness Summit in São Paulo, #Brazil in September was an amazing opportunity not only to talk about NVDA, but to give a presentation on the amazing MOVEMENT behind the world's favourite free #screenreader! We have two videos of the presentation and a full transcript for you, complete with an audience-initiated chant of "#NVDA NVDA NVDA!" at the end!

Last week Trump called Tim Walz the ‘R slur’.

He then doubled down on it, and now his base have begun harassing the entire Walz family.

Memes are circulating on socials encouraging people to drive past their house and yell it at them.

I’ve been personally called that word more than 1,000 times in the last seven days.

We can’t allow this to happen. The disability community has fought far too hard for far too long to remove that word from the public vernacular.

This is ableism at it’s most ugly, and ableism feeds eugenics and eugenics feeds fascism.

Help us fight back. We are not expendable.

Every available method of age verification systematically excludes or harms marginalized people. The real question isn’t whether these systems discriminate, but how extensively. eff.org/deeplinks/2025/12/10-n…

You can now blame Cloudflare for website issues with “The Cloudflare Error Page Generator” (an open-source project ) lets you create custom, static HTML error pages that perfectly mimic Cloudflare's style (like 5xx down errors). Put it on your site to quickly shift blame to Cloudflare when your site fails even when you don’t use Cloudflare 🤣 yes, someone spent time building it instead of fixing the actual website. 😂 github.com/donlon/cloudflare-e…

Here it is. I went through many many Youtube videos to dig out these. The sounds of: First a Monarch, then a dotPad X, then the Cadence. all 3, side by side. Interesting to me that DotPad's noise is more fragmented, maybe a tad louder than Monarch, almost on-par with Cadence. Cadence may be the loudest, but also fastest-refreshing (which is where they'll always have an advantage, even when you pair 2 or 4 that refresh rate doesn't go up.) Refresh rates between DotPad and Monarch feel comparable to me: Around 1.5 to 2.5 seconds, depending on your text's complexity.

Internships like Google Summer of Code prioritize people who have very little to no experience with free and open-source software (FOSS)

To get a job, employers prioritize people who have a formal experience, so internships are perfect for that

I have too much experience to be qualified for an internship, but I have no formal experience to be qualified for a job

Make it make sense please

I took a call from someone with questions about the Blazie Technologies products. He told me that he was a former customer of Blazie Engineering and how much he enjoyed those products. I was then quite amused when he told me that I was too young to remember those products, such as the disk drive accessory that was sold as a storage device for products like the Braille 'n Speak. I should have thought to tell him that I co-wrote the disk drive manual but I guess I'm so old I forgot to mention it. 😀

I know it's late notice, but a friend of mine has two tickets for the Super Bowl.
They are box seats and he paid $3,500 per ticket, which includes the ride to and from the airport, lunch, dinner, a $400.00 bar tab and a pass to the winners locker room after the game.
What he didn't realize, when he bought them last year, was that it's on the same day as his wedding.
If you are interested, he is looking for someone to take his place.
It's at St. Paul's Church at 3 p.m. Her name is Ashley. She's 5'4", about 115 pounds, a good cook, loves to fish and hunt and will clean your truck. She'll be the one in the white dress.

Everyone, sing along with me now:

I've no more fucks to give
My fucks have runneth dry
I've tried to go fuck shopping but there's no fucks left to buy
I've no more fucks to give
Though more fucks I’ve tried to get
I’m over my fuck budget, and I'm now in fucking debt

I've no more fucks to give
My fuck fuse has just blown
I've been hunting for my fucks all day but they've upped and fucked off home
I've no more fucks to give
My fuck rations are depleted
I've rallied my fuck army but it's been fucking defeated

Are there any good video players for Linux for TV shows? The user experience I'm seeking is:

- I select a folder to play
- I start watching
- I close the app
- Sometime later, I reopen the app and it loads the playlist I was watching, at roughly the same position

In essence, I want the Netflix viewing experience except with the media I already have.

Please don't recommend hacks. I'm looking for sane defaults. I prefer an app that targets #GNOME but, really, anything will do.
