More thoughts on the STUN server fallback question:
· This is something other #XMPP Clients just do quietly without having a big debate about it¹
· I don't think users should configure this. Anyone who knows what a STUN server is will likely switch to a server offering one.
· Treat it like channel search. On first use (call, file transfer), ask once: Use our fallback STUN server? Yes/No.

I've just scanned through the Main Menu podcast of yesterday where they were talking about JAWS, and in particular, the ideas that came out of the Next Big Thing contest.
I've been around this industry for about 30 years now and so it takes a lot to cause some excitement, and I've got to say, I didn't think personally that the ideas were that exciting, but that's just me. But keep reading because I'm going to be positive at the end.
Let me sketch out the ideas that were in the top 3.
1. To have some additions to the Settings Centre so that various JAWS settings could be applied in different situations. The way this was sketched out in the podcast wasn't that clear, but presumably it would mean that specific settings could be applied for various applications and situations. That can vary enormously from one person to another.
2. To have specific codes or key words one could use between assistant and the person being helped in relation to JAWS Tandem. I think there are far more fundamental things which need to be done with Tandem before that is thought about to make it a viable proposition for regular use these days.
3. The winner. If you receive an application with what one might call an allegedly inaccessible button or control, using a combination of OCR and AI technology, JAWS could find that and click it. Now presumably, although again it wasn't clear, the user could interrogate it so as to identify what it was that he or she wanted to click.
So there you have it.
But in passing, Jeff Bishop, one of the podcast hosts, made some remarks relating to FSCompanion.
He wondered if it would be a good idea to have it so that, if desired, one instruction could be given at a time. The user could then hear the first instruction, carry it out, and then hear the next one. Now that is an idea which should have won the contest. That is well thought out.
I'd go a bit further. You should be able to work through the instructions with global keystrokes so you could carry out the activity and step through the instructions at the same time as working within the chosen environment.
That would be a tremendous training aid. I'm almost tempted to steal that idea because I think it's so good.
At #MatrixConf, Jan Kohnert from gematik presented #TI-Messenger, the secure real time communications standard for the entire German healthcare system.
It uses Matrix to federate separately hosted systems to support 74M public insured citizens.
Did you know the
#Kamailio project has a public @matrix room (and space if you're into spaces)?
Come join the discussions and talk with others about #SIP, Kamailio, and troubleshooting...

I think they have some timezone issues, possibly since 27 October.
If you open treinradar and click on a train on the map, it will show you a timetable of a train that was passing that place 2 hours earlier.
Let's hope they will fix it before it gets automatically fixed at the end of March. 😉
Yeah, except I had to grab all the mods from the mods folder and copy them that way, but now it says this, even though I have the latest version from the repo.

I don't know why not. The only place I know of to get help is Discord.
Sorry I can't be more help
Hey y’all, how’s it going? Quick question for those on Bluesky: I just started trying it out this morning, and it’s pretty cool so far. Are there any third-party apps you’d recommend that are more accessible? The official app is good, but I’m curious about other options out there. Let me know!

Dear @libreoffice ,
I believe it is time to change the default interface layout to a design that is much more intuitive, accessible, and easy to understand for those unfamiliar with LibreOffice.
I would like to suggest making the default interface layout “Contextual Single” when it is ready, if only for the sake of those using LibreOffice for the first time.
Thank you!
Found hack. With cut and paste in Firefox.
Funnily the translation stuff fail at unicode.

in reply to Daniel Gultsch • • •with @pidgin we never officially had one nor did we default to anyone in particular. We looked at doing it for awhile but never went forward with it.
This is something we will be looking at again in the nearish future though, but we'd just be offering ip lookups and maybe udp hope punching, but we also don't want our servers to be used in illicit activity either which is where all of this becomes problematic.

in reply to Gary "grim" Kramlich • • •@grimmy @pidgin To be clear I’m only talking about STUN. I have no intention of running a TURN server.
The specific STUN server that we would be using (stun.conversations.im) is quasi public already.
