As the #Wuhan #summer #heat approaches (it's only 33°C today, so we're not there yet) there's a couple of perfect comfort foods for coping with it. Today's lunch is #凉皮 (#liángpí, lit. "cold skin"), it's originally from #Shǎnxī (often spelled #Shaanxi to distinguish it from #Shānxī without having to use tone diacritics) but has since spread around pretty much the entire northern half of #China to all the provinces neighbouring it, including where I live in #Hubei. Served chilled, it is one of the best ways to combat summer heat, able somehow to cool better than the Wuhan-local #凉面 (#liángmiàn, lit. "cold noodles") despite those being chilled as well.

What you see here is the liangpi before it gets mixed up. Only barely visible in the shot (through the little loop of noodle at the very bottom) is the preserved egg that was added because I love #CenturyEggs.

no one has thus far said anything about this aspect so i will. if my memory serves right, this would have been the first keynote ever by a person of color. the sheer disrespect of how this was done is worse than what you think. does rust project really understand how this actually looks like? from where i see, the apology, if it ever comes out, has to feel real and people have to own this fiasco with reasons.

I’m not trying to idolize jobs here, but we don’t know how much of his plans were derailed after he left. Cook is an excellent “sucker”, he can suck out as much profit from a product as humanly possible and then some, which allowed him to grow Apple into the trillion-dollar company it currently is . I don’t think that he’s a visionary capable of inventing five literally market-defining products in his lifetime like Jobs was, however. Over the last 10 years of Jobs’s life, Apple started delivering and grew the iPod, made unix-based Mac OS successful, revolutionized the music market by making the iTunes store, invented the iPhone, invented the App Store model, introduced the iPad, and did a bunch of less important things (like Siri, FaceTime, iMessage, Icloud etc) on the side. During Cook's leadership, they introduced the Watch, the AirPods, Apple Pay, Apple Music (which was a clone of Spotify), Apple TV Plus (which was a clone of Netflix), Apple Arcade (which was a clone of everybody doing game streaming with Apple's twist on top) and that's about it. None of those besides the first two are culturally important.

In this image a crescent Mars from the perspective of the spacecraft. On the top right side, the North Polar Cap appears icy and dusty. What's cool about this image is the elongated (orographic) cloud near Ascraeus Mons. It's also nice to see the enormous Olympus and Arsia Mons along the Terminator. The surface is a dusty red, as you would expect on Mars.
