#tchncs now hosts a #ntfy push service. If you were already trying ntfy.sh with eg. Mastodon or Matrix but it didn't work, that's because the .sh instance blocks ip's after a certain amount of requests per minute. With push.tchncs.de, you can give it another shot.

Bože to je zase článek, nahodil Ubuntu a beee nemám tam Word, beee nemám tam svoje affinity. Článek jak od nějakého IT amatéra, který nechape že přechod na jiný operační systém znamena že nebudu mít všechny svoje programy a chování systému stejné. A potom ještě po pár experimentech s wine zbaběle zdrhne zpět k mamince Windows, která ho sice neustále buzeruje s onedrive a reklamami, místo toho aby pohledal a vyzkoušel náhrady za programy které používal.

Much social software doesn't let you manage replies, whether coarsely or in a fine-grained manner. Sometimes you just want to spout off! Sometimes you don't actually want people to reply.

But I can't find the setting in the current #Gajim version and didn't managed to connect to my #xmpp server so far which uses "PKIX over Secure HTTP" for ssl verification.

Please remove the restrictive backward time limit in calendar entries, currently limited to 1970. Alternatively, expand the limit to (at least) 1900 (70 more years). As it stands, I cannot add my own birthday, yet alone my parents and older sibling. If this doesn't happen in 2024 I will not renew my subscription.
One year later and this - fairly important - feature has not yet been implemented. Moreover, it seems to me that your feedback was just a polite push back, effectively reading "take it or leave it". Is there a realistic expectation for this to actually ever be implemented?
@piouzi But if using the custom domain in Tuta, should there be no problem for Facebook? But I tried the Proton custom domain, and Facebook won't send the notifications, so maybe they will check the email server.

The spammy toots and new accounts we've been seeing here over the last 24h or so all seem to be in service of a "Joe Job," i.e. spamming everyone promoting a handle or person that you want everyone to get mad at or think more poorly of.

I don’t think trademarks are, in principal, evil. But anything that has billions of dollars riding behind its ability to get twisted out of proportion will be ruined.
Trademarks are like a cross between a signature on an art piece or a regulatory badge. They tell you where something’s from and who said it meets their standards, but are only relevant if the issuer doesn’t let others issue it. The #trademark itself ideally isn’t much of a creative work, so managing it doesn’t stifle much creativity.
But then fictional characters became brands, and their likenesses started getting trademarked to create overlap with copyright; this formed the foundation of modern media franchises, and everything went to hell. This is part of why I’ve grown a wary of official brand mascots in general.
