Just started playing Brok the InvestiGator (it's currently discounted on Steam) and it's actually quite fun. Reminds me a little bit on a german story audio game I used to play. So a nice thing for sure.
Lol that can't be compared to sound of magic at all if you mean that, if not disregard it. But idk, I listened to some lp's a while ago, didn't really seem to interesting or I feel it's a bit strange, not to mention they had a weird tts or I'm outdated on that.
@McOi I think the TTS is some Amazon thing, I don't have any problem with it. Better than all the bigger games which just throw MS David and that garbage at you.
Yeah knew it was that. I think it's the male alexa voice or something? Meh, It works for some things but isn't something for me to play a game with. But I guess that's taste? No, I don't like ms David either. But then again, I don't really play those games too

The Linux circlejerk has a "Great Man/Company theory" problem.
Every time there is an issue, they all go around clinging to the one company that "finally" will put some resources into fixing them. Endlessly hyping them up and elevating them to a deity status.
It happened with Canonical in the past and how it was "single handedly fixing GNOME".
More recently its Valve and how "they have graced us with gaming and fixing Wayland"

Is GTK/Libadwaita more easier to use as a graphical toolkit or was your decision guided more by aesthetics for Bottles @TheEvilSkeleton@treehouse.systems?
I wouldn't call GTK/libadwaita easier. GTK is the only toolkit I have significant experience with, so I have no point of comparison. That said, I do like GTK, because you can easily style with CSS, similarly to a website.
For Bottles, I didn't decide the library; I was not involved in Bottles development during that time. That was decided by Mirko, the mastermind behind it. I presume he did it for the aesthetics and good Python bindings.

nice post! I just read the first snti pattern, but I already have to reply 😀. I think one problem is that product doesn’t understand the building blocks and doesn’t care about it. I see it in my org and we did it right in the beginning. Nowadays we do it imo wrong: during the phase of “platform as product” we had few but team based product management and now because of “money savings by reducing employees”, we have a generic product team. The product team does only understand the UI. Rest of it is black magic. I also don’t think that they care and they pushed everything on principal engineers, which is even worse. I think nothing really serious comes from the product team. At least I only see buzz words with little understanding.
@sszuecs as a product manager, I can assure you that we do :) But every PM is different, indeed. You need to have a person who values the platform engineering and can turn it into a "product".
I don’t want to question that they care about the Platform. I just don’t see they understand it. Focusing only on integrating $whatever into backstage is not the right thing to do. I think the article says that, too. And having a bit of understanding about statistics would be helpful. Not sure if this is a general problem, I see this also in engineering, but normally engineers seem more open to learn. Sigh, sry for my half kind of a rant. 😊

Looking up vintage talking alarm clocks on Ebay, I found this listing: "Vintage Timex TMX Rock N' Roll Alarm Clock TX-10Q Mystery Answers Music Snooze" which is not particularly remarkable, except I very badly misheard what my screen reader said. I thought for a second that it said something like rubik's snooze. Now I'm imagining a clock that has you solve a rubik's cube if you want to either stop the alarm, or get 9 more minutes of sleep, and I think this is a marketing opportunity for someone.
Imagine how annoyingly annoying that would be? Not only should you need to solve the cube, but it also would have 12 vibrating motors, just to make it even more difficult to hold the clock while it's alerting you to wake up.

@michal Řešení je jednoduché, zakaž si ve filtrech účet, ze kterého dlouhé texty chodí 🤷🏻♂️. Někomu se to líbí, přečíst si (sdílet) něco s více myšlenkami, co je za paywallem ☺️.
Jako administrátor můžeš zakázat na své instanci účty Friendica, které mají větší rozsah a někteří to využívají (nebo zneužívají - dle úhlu pohledu), pokud Ti nevyhovuje individuální řešení.
Tlačítko "zobrazit více" má snad každá aplikace, kterou jsem zkoušel 🤔, včetně mnou aktuálně používané Tusky nebo dříve používané Pachli a Mastodon (obojí z F-Droid).
@TakNe Díky za tipy. Na Mastodonu jsem od roku 2018. Nativní aplikace Mastodonu to bohužel neumí. Normálně ji nepoužívám, ale v nové verzi ji mám spuštěnou kvůli citacím. Jinak používám hlavně Tusky nebo Fedilab.
Ten můj toot nebyl mířený na autora příspěvku, spíš obecně na to, že by možná nějaký rozumný limit měl existovat. Nedivím se, že vývojáři to nechtějí nechávat na adminech a je potřeba to řešit přímo v kódu. Filtry znám, psal jsem k nim i návody pro uživatele. Šlo mi jen o to, že rolovat extrémně dlouhé tooty v mobilu není úplně příjemné. Nešlo o obsah a rozhodně nechci žádné uživatele blokovat nebo omezovat, ani jako admin zakazovat Friendicu. @michal
@LukeAlmighty Ale já jim ho vůbec neberu. Je to jen můj názor. Prostě mě je štve pak v mobilní aplikaci projíždět celý tak dlouhý příspěvek. Chápu, že to někomu nevadí.
