Updated! TheMistWorld 3-in-1 simulator tool got a huge overhaul. You can now create gems, or enhance equipment, with actual game sounds. That's right, you weren't tired of hearing the equipment failing sound over and over again enough? Now you can hear it slam endlessly and not caust you any real or in-game money! Same goes for gems. We now have an interactive, time-based enhancement mode where you can listen to gems failing and succeeding as it happens per level. If you don't check it, in either scenario, you get a text progress. The gem simulator now has shard prices for server 1 and server 2, so you are able to compare which server has what. Starting with v7.68.5-1, we've unified Molly and Molly-FOSS into a single fully FOSS app, with no proprietary dependencies.
We replaced the proprietary Play Services SDK previously used by Molly with our own open-source implementation, so FCM push notifications are now supported for all users.
If you have either Molly or Molly-FOSS installed, just update like usual. No migration needed.
Molly v7.68.5-1 is already available on GitHub and F-Droid. Accrescent coming soon.

Dropbox is trash. Have to join a shared folder but can't because apparently I'm using 360% of my available storage, oh no. The root folder is empty, I left all shared folders, I don't have photos uploaded... Asked Claude, apparently it's a backup feature I have turned on somewhere somewhen, but no idea how to turn it off anymore. Meanwhile, on Windows it's spamming you with stupid notifications, and on the web and mobile app, it's trying to shove the premium plans up your throat no matter where you click. Even if I get this crap resolved, no way I'm even considering using that again. Can't we just have a good cloud option these days?
There's probably something in preferences to turn that off, but I agree Dropbox is trash. They only store one copy of every file, no matter how many people have it in their Dropbox, so shared folders shouldn't consume any space in your Dropbox unless you're the owner. But they know their 2 GB plan is unusable, the only thing you can pay for is 2 TB you'll probably never use, so they make money and that's all that matters. I didn't even install it on my latest computer. Much happiness.
@simon Nope, not in settings for me, but I found the direct link and am now deleting stuff. Also they now introduced a 500GB plan for 5,99€, but with no additional perks such as more devices, just plainly 500GB storage. The bad thing is that, from mobile for example, you have no other way than subscribing to get these stupid alerts away, in case you are in a hurry and need to join a folder or something. You must mess around somewhere on the web to eventually find what they're complaining about.
That's actually not unreasonable pricing, though the device limits are absurd. Certainly that would be enough for shared folders though, and there are various ways of attaching third-party apps to Dropbox and allowing access through them.
But but, your files are going to get deleted, go fast get the 2TB premium plan because it's awesome and you get a ton ofuseful features and best get thhe yearly sub because you can save.../s

Non, in fact. I use the typical music apps like Spotify Tidal, and dedicated podcast players. But not a generic local file music player, I mean these music and podcast apps support downloading anyway. Probably just me though, I haven't really found a media player I'd like anyway.

Je nach Musik wusste man, wer sich gerade im Bad befand. Z. B. hörte Mitbewohnerin T. entweder Element of Crime, Ry Cooder oder Buena Vista Social Club.

LOL! Das klingt spannend! Der Vorteil an lauter Musik bei besetztem Bad ist natürlich auch, dass auch andere Aktivitäten stattfinden können, vorzugsweise zu zweit oder mehreren, die sonst nicht üblich fürs Bad sind, von lauter Musik aber auch gut maskiert werden.

There is a CLI tool that lets you do common video and audio operations without having to remember complex ffmpeg syntax. There is no AI and no API calls, just old school pattern matching. It’s fast, works offline, and feels like video editing in plain English right from your CLI. @Scott I made a bat file based on similar information a month or so ago that takes image as the first input, file as the second, and turns that video into <second file.mp4> as the output. The contents of said batch file goes like this:

Na to, že tím netopíte, je to celkem hodně. My máme dům 220m2, vše na elektřinu (topení, ohřev vody, vaření, filtraci bazénu, praní+sušení, teď už i auto) a jsme letos na 11,7 MWh. Když jsem byl single, měl jsem spotřebu v 70m2 bytě 1 MWh ročně. :)

Ale špekulácia z mojej strany - Dávno, pradávno, v časoch covid-19 opatrení som sa niečo podobné pýtal na Reddite ohľadom spomínaných opatrení. Totiž v tej dobe sa začala formovať skupina ľudí čo boli proti rúškam, proti karanténe, proti dezinfekcii, proti vakcínam, ... tak ma zaujímalo že dobre, už vieme proti čomu ste ale nevieme vlastne za čo ste alebo čo vôbec navrhujete že máme robiť. A čo viem tak som nedostal nejakú schopnú odpoveď.
A neviem nakoľko to je pravda ale ja si to stále tak spájam že strany ako Republika fungujú nejak podobne. Proste proti systému nech už je akýkoľvek. Až na úrovni kedy to ani nedáva zmysel - napr. svojho času boli Kotlebovci proti Ficovi a Smeru lebo sú to zlodeji ... a zároveň sa predpokladalo že s ním pôjdu do koalície.
Tak to by ma teda zaujímalo za čo oni vlastne sú ale odpoveď tam podľa mňa môže byť že na to ani nie je nejaká jasná odpoveď - to môže byť proste zmes nasratia na všetko + potreba silného vodcu ktorý tresne rukou po stole a zázrakom vyrieši veci.
Asi najbližšie, čo poznám, sa k tomu dostal Ken Wilber v knihe "Trump a post-pravdový svet". Ten popísal situácii v USA, ale základné koncepty by mali fungovať aj na Slovensko. Vychádza z vývinovej psychológie, podľa ktorej sa ľudská psychika vyvíja celý život a dajú sa identifikovať viaceré rozličné fázy vývinu. Argumentuje, že ľudia centrovaní v autoritárskej "jantárovej, modrej" fáze (bežné znaky do napr. čierno-biele chápanie sveta, kolektivizmus, rešpektovanie autority, neprijímanie rozdielov (sexizmus, rasizmus, xenofóbia atď)) boli progresívnymi a liberálnymi vladármi dlhú dobu odsúvaný na druhú koľaj, z čoho bolo nasraní. A keď prišiel Trump, ktorý hovoril presne to čo cítili a nadával na tých, na ktorých aj oni, cítili s ním hlboké spojenie a preto ho volili. To, že je to diktátorský magor im nevadilo, lebo to bol ich diktátorský magor.
Na konceptuálnej úrovni to vnímam rovnako aj na Slovensku. Akurát v úrovni konkrétností už neviem čo slovenskí republikáni chcú... Teda, okrem svojho tatka, ktorý nadáva rovnako ako oni. Ale na začiatok by však rozhodne bola vhodná úcta a neopovrhovanie.
Byt "za nieco" znamena byt konstruktivny a nieco vybudovat. Byt "proti niecomu" je jednoduche lebo ti staci nicit. Vid. aj sucasnu vladu - ziaden koncept, len nicit, hejtovat a hrat na seba.
OK, I am a lot more impressed with Supertonic than I thought. It has its own text processor that does some uncommon context text-based things like phone numbers, technical units, and financial stuff, that other commercial AI TTS engines like Eleven Labs, Gemini, Open AI, and Microsoft Azure don't do. And plus, unlike Sonata/Piper, it's not using eSpeak as a base.
Are you sure this is a text processor and not an end-to-end neural network?
If you train a neural net on human speech with plenty of examples of such patterns, it'll pick them up automatically, no special preprocessing necessary.
@miki The reason why I used the phrase "text processor" is because I don't know much about the inner workings of neural TTS engines, since I'm so used to talking about the more retro types for so long. I like almost all TTS engines, as long as they are intelligible and usable, from eSpeak to Supertonic, from Microsoft XP to Microsoft Azure.
@miki @Alex Krier When it comes to supertonic, I am unable to find out if it can handle other languages besides english and if it's doable to train in a homelab like environment similar to piper. Do you know some of these?
@pvagner They only release inference code which just defers to ONNX for the actual model inference stuff. This means one would have to reverse-engineer their model architecture to train their own models for other languages.

It is a good New Year resolution, however, the main problem with it is that not a lot of people use Signal. So it would be hard for someone to switch if only small amount of someone's friends is using it.
I have a 4 year old Android phone that has not had updates for a while now. I am not going to use that as a basis for a secure IM system such as Signal.
I do not wish to buy a replacement for this phone. Neither Android nor iOS.
I use Wire IM. I believe it to be secure.
It has the great advantage over many IM systems in that you can register a personal account on Wire using just an email address.

Yep, absolutely marginal share, at the same time it's nearly double grow every year. My guess Linux mobile and maybe "Raspberry Pi" computers are reasons of it.

I mean I think that recent RPis & friends may still be grouped under the “Linux desktop” category, and in that case I don’t think that they’d be making up <1% of the market. It’s just that they’re more likely to use Debian-based solutions and perhaps Snap rather than Flatpak.
Same for many Termux on Android solutions (are they counted?), running on ARM but very unlikely to use Flatpak.
If you exclude these big segments I think that at the current state you’re mostly left with folks who install Linux on their ARM Macbooks or Surface devices, since even popular manufacturers among Linux users (like Tuxedo or Dell) don’t even ship ARM-based solutions yet.
@fabio Yes, it's definitely biased in this regard although for example I do use Flatpak on my OnePlus 6. :) From me it was a little sigh that despite all the predictions we still don't have ARM as a widely available hardware architecture for desktop usage.

Lol. Whenever I open ableton on windows now, any audio basically stops being audible. There's only the metronome that I got working, and even that sounded super glitchy lmao. Well I can't go into audio settings without a working monitor for visual help or audio for nvda so what is going on?
