Si es así esta es mi receta para la sopa de cebolla:
Corte 3 cebollas en rodajas y en una olla póngalas con un chorro de aceite de oliva, a fuego lento, hasta que se ponga transparente. Añada un litro de agua y un litro de caldo de carne. Hay que cocer todo esto a fuego lento 25 minutos. Pruébela y añada la sal que necesite.
En una sartén fría dos dientes de ajo en rodajas, sin pasarse o amargarían, ponga un poco de pimentón, mueva todo rápidamente y viértalo sobre la olla. Para servir, se pone la sopa en cuenco de barro, con una rodaja de pan tostado por encima y queso de fundir y se mete al horno hasta que el queso se derrita y se dore ligeramente.
Si no se pasa el frío es que ya queda poco más que hacer.

This is exactly what I'm looking for, but the UX is pretty terrible. THe bot can clearly handle direct messages but it just refuses to for some unknown reason. It very much looks like a dark pattern to me.
@miki This is the kind of feedback that makes no one want to work on new things: immediately labeling the UX of a "beta" RSS application as terrible 7 hours after its initial release and calling what is potentially a small oversight a "dark pattern", which is objectively a very negative phrase to label a situation that is likely not even insidious or attempting to hoodwink users privacy at all. Why not just make a suggestion instead of coming in hot like this?
@tristan This is clearly not an oversight. It would be an oversight if the bot straight up ignored DMs. The bot is specifically coded so that it replies to DMs, telling you that DMs aren't supported. I find it very hard to believe doing that was less work than actually making DMs handled correctly.
@miki The service is open source. I can't see a reason that they chose to deny DMs upon quickly glancing through, but I would assume best faith interpretation until otherwise indicated. It's possible that it's just an artificial way to throttle down on people spamming, since folks will be obligated to air their RSS feeds in some kind of public venue. It'd be lovely to have a bit more privacy here, but I still sincerely doubt this is done intentionally to harm.
I guess this is turning into a real project so putting this out there if anyones interested:
We're making a very lightweight tool to create RSS feeds for journals from crossref metadata (with room for other sources). If ya dont know, many publishers are shutting down their RSS feeds to drive people onto their surveillance platforms, and every enshittification leaves behind an opening for adversarial interop.
This opens some interesting possibilities like creating feeds for keywords indexed across journals to start breaking down journals as the major organizational scheme of scholarly lit - papers have metadata keywords, but they mostly arent used, so lets use them!
Eventually wed like to write a FastAPI plugin similar to activitypub-express so we can make all feeds available on the fedi as well, and that would be a really nice set of tools to build for smaller AP projects that dont necessarily want to be full instances.
This is designed to be extremely deployable so you can run your own feed generator, but we'll also host a reference instance here at feeds.neuromatch.social once we get it running.

Ja, ziemlich ärgerlich und geradezu naiv solche Umfragen, wenn man sich die weite Verbreitung von Nextcloud auch in öffentlichen Einrichtungen anschaut. Davon abgesehen sollten sie sich erst mal um eine stabile und nachhaltige Software bemühen, bevor sie mit jeder Version tonnenweise "hippes Zeug" einbauen und das Ding zu einem nahezu unübersichtlichen Anwendungs-Monster werden lassen. 😠
