@lexinova avoiding the default server is a goal, and the rolling 2.33 releases are the next steps towards it, where you can seamlessly switch to a new server :) automating this is a question for the future.

@lexinova @link2xt multi relay is in advanced settings as we are carefully introducing multi relays, to avoid friction in the ecosystem and with all the existing users. Without insight into the actual implementation and coordination involved this is admittedly hard to understand from the outside.
@qyahxm Technically even more than 1000 is possible and was tested, but practically a few hundred was the largest size seen before it broke down for non-technical reasons. Delta Chat is built for private groups and has no common moderation tooling like role-based access controls.
A fun, and probably easy idea would be to be able to message all users in the server about this maintenance period. And also message back when back on.

I am sending messages to users who are using "classic" email (e.g. gmx.com) with the DeltaChat app, but they are not receiving my messages; could this be related?
@aaronvonawesome it's usually related to spam checking from gmx's side. Chatmail relays all interoperate because the checks are only cryptographic. There is no so called "reputation" database

LLMs have the potential to turn content into a diff between what you already know and the current state of the world. The problem with making any kind of content is that no two readers are the same and have the same level of knowledge. This means that you'll always get some people who find parts of your content too hard to understand, not because they're stupid, but because they don't have the necessary prerequisites yet. You will also get some people who find parts of your content unnecessary, as they contain information they already know. Those two groups might overlap!
LLMs fundamentally change this paradigm. Because they're cheap enough to run to produce content aimed at a single reader, they can take into account what the reader already knows, what preliminaries the reader is missing, and what they're trying to get out of that content in the first place.
This requires combining the LLM with some kind of knowledge tracking system, which is hard for the usual privacy / "walled gardens" reasons, but I think we'll eventually get something like that for education at least.

To make it clear, I don't agree with the under 16 ban of social media because: 1. It won't remove bullying from teens' lives 2. The age verification tech will actually be used to compromise identity and may actually be used *for bullying* 3. Teens will not learn how to engage with social media. 4. Alternatives to using social media are not "riding a bike" or "reading a book", but actually "talking to Chat GPT". Good luck with that.
The new web-based WhatsApp for Windows is uninstalled for now. After the forced switch from the previous app, messages simply stopped syncing on my PC. Nothing I send from Windows goes through, and anything that arrives on my phone never shows up on the desktop. Only Meta could take a perfectly good app and turn it into a trash-tier experience. Honestly, it’s unbelievable how consistently they manage this.

The funny part is… that sad day has already come for me. I woke up this morning, opened the old client, and Meta had just killed it. No warning, no apology, no “we messed up,” nothing. At this point I’m convinced Meta doesn’t sunset apps, they just ambush them in the dark. 😄

Hi @NVAccess if possible in a future in prossess blog, could you tell us how to interact with split buttons on windows? For example when a windows update requires restart, the button is a split button. The default action is to restart the machine, but I think there are more options to it and I am not sure how to find them. Somebody told me in the past but I don't remember. I couldn't find anything online. If I type split buttons, I get the buttons for split screen etc.
Usually either down arrow or alt+down arrow (both work if you press say alt+d to go to desktop then alt+f4 to open the shutdown dialog. alt+down arrow works in the Office ribbon on split buttons. I thought there were some in Windows settings, but I can't find them now (or they've changed them).
