I’ve written 6 so far, and there’s more to come! Plenty of WIP drafts to finish 🙂

This really plays to my strengths, combining my love for

• writing,
• improving OpenStreetMap, free data, and freedom-respecting software,
• reviewing (as a child, I liked to review the theatre I watched with my parents…my parents and their theatre friends would often ask me for my review after the show, and would listen to me intently 🥺)
• …and trying new things to eat and drink!

PS MapComplete currently removes all line breaks from the reviews it displays (which breaks things like paragraphs and bullet lists), and Mangrove Reviews truncates the text of the reviews it displays. So there’s no perfect way to view the reviews right now…I’ve let the developers know about these issues and they will hopefully fix them soon.

I just updated the list of weather stations used by #TinyWeatherForecastGermany , and it turns out my app now supports 6291 locations worldwide.

Time to update the advertising claim from "over 5000 locations worldwide" to > 6000 👍

Last weekend the Open Film Database (ofdb.cc) received another update, which included the migration from #WordPress (Blog) and #DokuWiki (Wiki) to #Drupal, front-end improvements for TV shows, improved cast editing, and more!

The #OFDb is a database for movies and TV shows with its data published under an open license (Open Database License). Everyone can participate and add more titles. The more the merrier!

Tři postřehy z povodní

Letošní velké povodně se naší rodině vyhnuly. Přesto jsem jejich průběh sledoval, protože v zasažených oblastech jsem měl vzdálenější rodinu, kolegy, známé. Jak už to u takových tragických událostí bývá, vyvolaly celou řadu diskusí: o schopnosti krajiny zadržovat vodu, budování přehrad, polderů atd. Mě ale pohledem ajťáka zaujaly tři věci.
