Okay, #Hometown v1.1.0 is now released!

Massive release notes here:

https://github.com/hometown-fork/hometown/releases/tag/v4.0.2%2Bhometown-1.1.0

Admins, please let me know if you run into trouble on the upgrade. This is a tricky one, mostly due to Mastodon v3 -> v4 stuff. You'll get a lot of mileage searching the Mastodon issues repo for production errors you run into on the upgrade.

I'll repeat what I said on the release notes: if your installation is customized in any way (sidekiq setup, etc) you NEED to be careful.

That's fantastic news! Welcome to the Fediverse!

And thank you for making the conscious decision to use the word #Fediverse, instead of the brand of just one particular type of Fediverse server among myriad others.

I've assembled a short list of platforms available to choose from here:

Particular favorites for many are those of #Friendica, #Akkoma, #Soapbox, #Hometown and #Calkey.

Don't forget to checkout other Mastodon forks like Glitch-Soc too 🙂

New #Hometown release! In version 1.0.8 we have a handful of new features including:

- more explicit multiple-choice poll toggle
- ability to keep your local-only posts if you have automatic post deletion turned on
- RSS opt-out (privacy-oriented admins can set opt-out to default true for all users who haven't set theirs)
- some technical changes that will make it easier for 3rd party clients to support Hometown

I made a PR to Mastodon to see if they are interested in merging the exclusive lists feature from #Hometown

Here's everything that is coming in #hometown v1.0.8 (which I will release once I have tested it here on Friend Camp for a few days):
