So the CEO of one of BlackRock's real estate subsidiaries, Wesley LePatner, was gunned down in a workplace shooting.
LePatner was in charge of a $56B fund that has been reported to be a part of BlackRock's strategic mass purchasing of homes.
The press & cops seem to be working double time to make sure this isn't seen by the average Joe as some sort of Luigi moment.
The cops claim the assailant was lost and killed the wrong CEO.
Cuomo, a man with multiple credible sexual assault allegations against him, was thoroughly trounced by Mamdani in the Democratic primary for NYC mayor.
Does he concede quietly? Of course not.
He’s “in it to win it” as an independent.
This is what happens when men never learn that “no means no”.
A key part of the New York City mayoral races was Ranked Choice Voting.
I'm not seeing many news articles mention this yet (correct me if I'm wrong though!).
Ranked choice let's us vote first for who we actually want.... and then put in backup votes for "good enough" candidates and allows us to compromise and find common ground.
It destroys the concepts of "lesser of two evils" and "throwing away your vote".
I hope we see Ranked Choice voting everywhere.

I remember when a thief came into my house through an unlocked windowwhen I was a graduate student in Miami and stole my underwater photography gear. The police almost laughed at me when I suggested that they dust for fingerprints the window that s/he obviously opened*. They told me it wasn't like a cop drama TV show (copaganda really is copaganda) and they wouldn't do it. But when a healthcare CEO is gunned down in Manhattan, they will pick up candy wrappers and water bottles off the street to try to find DNA (much more expensive then fingerprints, and prone to errors if they are using objects on the ground in a crowded city). My claim was denied, but the healthcare CEO's claim will never be denied.

*I'm not trying to equate theft to murder. I'm trying to compare the responses. The cop's response suggested that they rarely dust for fingerprints. Ever. His solution? Monitor Ebay for your photography equipment and let them know if I find it!
