Alternative to Skype? HELP PLEASE!
Can anyone recommend a replacement for Skype for making international calls to a phone line, over the internet? (That service is closing down May 1.)
I use Skype to call the UK to help look after my father-in-law, including sorting problems out with the bank account. Yesterday I was on for 1 hour (and then was cut off), most of that on hold with the bank. I will have to do the same tomorrow. For now I can use Skype at reasonable rates. If I had used my cellphone, it would have cost me $75 plus tax. Using my landline would be even more. This would be the case even using a 0800 number. I can't afford this but basically I will have no option unless I can find another service. The bank will not speak to a third party so I can't ask anyone in the UK to call for me.
Has anyone used Google voice calling international numbers (from Canada)?
Is there some other service? As if there wasn't enough stress in our lives...
