This year I finally made the switch to #Linux on my laptop. Your message reminded me that the journey isn't over just yet. Only a #degoogled phone will bring me there.

Without it, there's no verifiable chain of trust from hardware to operating system.

Essentially control for those who know what they want from a phone ig (not that I'm an expert) 😁

"FOSS is so powerful that I just compiled my morning coffee from source. It took 3 hours and 47 dependency conflicts, but now it respects my freedom AND my caffeine addiction" 😋

Whether we like it or not, users will usually *need* to use at least a few apps from Play Store.
However, a good deGoogled phone will give users tight, granular control of any and all app permissions.

Stepping away from exploitive companies and business models is much easier, when their selling proposition (in this case: convenience and reliability) stops being unique.

Bonus round: Ability to run the app for my bank so I can deposit checks via my phone while living in pandemic isolation. (I realize this is a somewhat niche concern.)
