going further away from the android/AOSP-derivatives: another solution is Linux distributions on smartphones:

- I personally daily drive #SailfishOS for more than a decade (commercially supported versions of SFOS even have "Android App Support" running inside a container for "that one app" with no native linux port you can't get without)

- I've heard positive things about #postmarketOS and #UbuntuTouch (but don't have personal experience)

and on Linux OSes (such as #SailfishOS or UbuntuTouch), there's PureMaps

Mostly I use the web version. I will gladly have an #SailfishOS app, but I can't somehow find it. Is there any tuta app for this particular OS? πŸ€”πŸ™„

- I'm not competing as I run #SailfishOS on my phones.

I am using #Tutanota for my mail mainly because I want to stay away from the big tech companies (like google and apple).

The android app works (but it's a bit unstable) on my phone. I've given up on you ever making a native app for the OS I like and, more importantly, trust. But a sliver of paradise is nonetheless better than all of hell.

....and I can always communicate safely with my daughters wherever they travel. πŸ”’
