We definitely need more support for the Accessible Canada Act. It is only with political pressure that we are going to see governments actually regulating this. The Act is just the beginning, and is just one tool to make Canada more accessible.

Really annoying Orca behavior: you have to navigate by word to find spelling errors. rather than by paragraph or sentence. This is a massive productivity killer. If any #Blind #Linux users know how to change this, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll write to the Orca list and see if this can't be fixed.

Update: have written to the Orca list about this and hoping it's something that I can simply configure.

GNOME reshared this.

In the UK, christmas songs might be banned in pubs in bars. We all know who is behind it. Those who must not be named, of course.

I went for a walk this morning. A tree branch hit me in the face. It scratched my cheek, missing my right eye by not very much, and yanked my right AirPod out completely. I had to use Find My to recover my AirPod. If you own trees and their branches overhand public sidewalks, please, PLEASE keep them trimmed. Not everyone can see and avoid branches.

Oh, and yes, I've called the office for code enforcement about branches. They never called me back.

When an entire class of technology states on the packaging that it was made in China but intended "for overseas use only," this should really give you pause before plugging it into your network.

You will find this verbiage on a lot of Android TV streaming boxes for sale at the major retailers. There's a very good reason the country that makes this crap doesn't want it on their own networks. My advice: If you have one of these Android streaming boxes on your network or get one as a gift, toss it in the trash. I'll have a lot more about this in the New Year, but these things are responsible for building out a botnet that currently has ~2M devices and is growing rapidly. blog.xlab.qianxin.com/kimwolf-…
