If I did not trust my government to spy on me - and that is always the threat; governments don't care about tracking citizens of other countries - why would I buy a phone made in my own country? A government has more influence to wield over domestic producers than it does one in another country. If I needed a secure phone I would certainly buy the Chinese made Librem 5 phones. I really don't care if the CCP knows the intimate details of my life. I DO care that my own government would.

Quick note: If you follow me, you probably noticed that I post occasional photos. Unfortunately, the default display behavior on most Mastodon instances and clients crops many images unless you click on them. I hate this, as does every other photographer here, but it's not likely to change any time soon.
You can disable this broken behavior in the Mastodon web interface by unchecking a box under display preferences.
But in any case, please be aware you might not be seeing the whole photo.
Today on Global Accessibility Awareness Day (#GAAD), let's go beyond awareness to action. And to my fellow disabled technologists, we should be thinking about how we can make our own accessibility through more powerful assistive technology. I'm particularly interested in what we can do with multi-modal large language models like GPT-4. Until GPT-4 itself is more widely available, there's also LLaVA (llava-vl.github.io/). I should really start playing with that this weekend.

The sharp uptick in 2014 is interesting. Was there a particular effort that year that exposed so many (valgrind?), or just the randomness of data? I didn't see you discuss the history in your blog post.

@cocoaphony the graph shows when the flaws were introduced, not found. I really don't know how it happened so much in that particular period. We have adjusted and improved internals since then, which possibly have helped.
@ArneBab clearly the c mistake share has decreased significantly the last two years. I suppose we will learn if this was just a fluke or something real as we go forward!

@IzzyOnDroid @DocAimless Wie geschrieben gibt es diesen Fehler nur auf den fdroid build Servern. Lokal und auch bei gitlab läuft er sauber durch. Hatte es dann auch noch mal mit nem Debian image probiert. Scheint überall zu laufen :)
Ich hatte dann dort gefragt, ob man deren Build Server Umgebung irgendwie reproduzierend mit Ansible/Chef o.ä. aufsetzen kann. Geht wohl leider nicht...
