José Epita nació en Ibanamai, en la que era la colonia española de Guinea en 1911. Se formó como mecánico y entró en el ejército español con 16 años.
El 1 de enero de 1936 se casa en Cartagena con Cristina Sáez, es la primera vez que un hombre de origen africano se casaba con una española y eso generó cierta polémica. Ese mismo año empieza la guerra civil, manteniéndose Epita fiel a la República.
Durante la guerra alcanza el rango de teniente. Una vez terminada cruza la frontera hacia Francia. Allí subsiste en varios de los infames campos de concentración en la que los franceses metieron a los españoles republicanos con los que no sabían que hacer.
Pero Francia fue a su vez invadida por los nazis y nuestro protagonista se une a la resistencia francesa, llegando a ser uno de sus líderes más destacados. En 1944 cae preso por la gendarmería francesa y entregado a las autoridades nazis que envían al campo de Neuengamme.
En un momento dado, por motivos no muy claros, los alemanes internan a varios prisioneros en buques-prisión. José es subido al Cap Arcona, que había sido un trasantlántico de lujo y que ahora se encontraba repleto de prisioneros hacinados.
La RAF británica localiza al barco y creyéndolo un buque enemigo, lo hunde. No valiéndoles con el hundimiento, los aviones británicos dieron varias pasadas ametrallando a los sobrevivientes que trataban de ganar la costa a nado.
Se estima que más de 4.500 prisioneros de guerra murieron aquel día, José no fue uno de ellos. Fue uno de los apenas 300 supervivientes.
Una vez acabada la guerra, vuelve a Francia donde se reúne con su familia.
Gracias a su pasado de lucha contra los nazis, José consigue la nacionalidad francesa y decide cambiar su apellido Epita por Mbomo.
En 1968, decepcionado y triste por los acontecimientos de la Primavera de Praga, sale del partido comunista. En 1969 volvió brevemente a España. Murió el mismo 1969 en Francia, por un cáncer.

It is Feburary 2024, and the world of cord-cutting has changed a lot over the last year. Recently, multiple live TV streaming services have made changes, including changes to their channels and we have even seen price hikes from Fubo.
A friend of a friend, who is blind, got placed in “accessible” accommodation recently where all the amenities (washing machine, microwave, intercom etc.) are touchscreen, if ever you wonder how fucking ignorant non-disabled people can be.
It's a huge struggle to find appliances that are accessible in that regard. Induction cookers for example are really tough to find with physical knobs even buying for oneself.
I can imagine that’s very much the case. But surely in specialised accommodation someone might have thought about ways to make appliances that’s aren’t immediately accessible, accessible enough for the user to use. I’m not blind so I don’t know exactly how, but I imagine braille stickers would be a start, and appliances with physical features?
Right, I wasn't excusing the accommodation centre, more pointing out that, even for a blind person like myself, finding appropriate appliances is a huge pain. Usually it requires some manual adaptation, like using one with knobs and placing some kind of notches on the knob or around it to indicate positions. Touchscreens make being blind a lot more difficult overall, I'd say. Had a similar problem when they changed the intercom system on my bloc of flats. All touch-based, so I can neither call from the outside, nor open from the inside.

I hate touchscreens personally as I find them largely unnecessary and never as responsive as I’d like, and that’s without any accessibility needs.
Same same... It also transforms everything into computers, which in principle is fine (if you have a computer in there and good IO you can use any way to talk to it, and it can talk back, literally) but that's in the ideal world where software isn't crap. So instead of having a knob that governs a potentiometer or whatever, suddenly it's a computer, and one I can't use. Very frustrating indeed.

Myslel jsem, že by mohla stačit i ta integrovaná grafika Intel UHD Graphics 770, tím ušetřit peníze a protože občas upravuji fotografie, tak raději mít větší paměť RAM, aspoň 64 Gb. Jinak cena PC maximálně 30000.-
Integrovaná grafika je v pohodě. A v případě nutnosti se dá na desktopu lehce přidat výkonnější. Jen je třeba koukat na to, zda byl zvolen dostatečně výkonný zdroj.
64 GB chválím - paměti nikdy není dost.
Jinak desktop jsem už hodně dlouho neskládal a poslední dobou si pohrávám s myšlenkou, že až dětem doslouží, tak jej nahradím nějakým miniPC.
škoda, že se nedíváš po ntb s i7 - mám tady jeden, kterého se chci zbavit jen za cenu toho CPU 😀. Byl tři roky na stole právě jako workstation 😀. Ale chci něco malého na cesty do batůžku.
to úplně není noťas pro manželky, P1 gen2, takže velká výkonná workstation, která se dá i přenášet. Jen zdroj to chce 100+ wattů, takže to nestíhá dobíjet přes USB C 😉
Já bych hlavně upozornil na koupi kvalitního zdroje a základní desky (dost usb portů) pokud možno bez milionů blbosti, ale hlavně stabilní. Já vím je to obecné, ale zdroj se často podceňuje a pak se lidi diví, že počítač není stabilní
@jackc Amd můžu doporučit ...poslední roky je srovnatelé s Intelem ... dostatek paměti je prima a zdroj bych doporučila nějaký slušný alespoň 850W Seasonic .... a taky nějakou slušnou case ...aby měla dobrá airflow.... do 30 K by se vešel s nějakým horším chladičem a slabším zdrojem ....
u AMD si vyberes po vsech smerech uspornejsi CPU, cenou i vykonem za watt takovy Ryzen 8700G ma TDP 65 W, cenu kolem 9k a nedokazu si predstavit, ze by mi nestacil na co to potrebujes? ono se to nezda, ale 200 W navic se po par letech dost prodrazi
@albi Vidíš to mě nenapadlo, koukat i na výkon. Jak jsem psal, maximálně úpravy v RAW a skládat panorama s více fotografií. Tak myslím hlavně výkon a dostatečná RAM.
@albi Přimluvil bych se taky za AMD, protože úspora energie a delší lifecycle patice – AM5 tu bude ještě roky, LGA 1700 nahradí už letos. Já osobně jsem po 4 letech upgradoval z Ryzenu 1600 na 5600X a bylo to brutální zvýšení výkonu bez jakékoliv jiné úpravy.
Pokud trváte na Intelu, přijde mi ta i7 jako nesmysl, protože žere jak tank a jestli máte pocit, že vám ta i5 bude stačit, nejspíš vám bude stačit.
@vonxylofon Byl to jen takový první návrh s i7. Prostě chci jen výkonné PC. Stačí mi i integrovaná grafika. Hry nehraju, ani hrát nebudu. Na PC jen klasická práce + úprava fotografií v RAW formátu.
@albi Pak bych doporučil to 8700G, desku s PCIe 5 (mám dobré zkušenosti s Gigabyte, zejména stran dlouhodobé podpory, tak třeba Aorus Elite ICE?), kvalitní zdroj (mám Corsair RM650x) a co nejrychlejší RAM s nejnižším CL v rozpočtu (opět spokojenost s Corsair). Jako case nedám dopustit na Fractal Design Define. Je obří, ale neskutečně prostorná a dobře se v ní dělá.
jeste koukam, ze ti tu spousta lidi doporucuje obrovske zdroje ... bacha na to, vyssi potencialni vykon neznamena vyssi kvalitu hod si ostatni komponenty do nejake online kalkulacky spotreby a zhruba zdvojnasob beznou spotrebu (ne maximalni), tak se dostanes na zdroj s optimalni efektivitou ja jsem si treba naposledy stavel mini-ITX masinku s GTX 1650 S a vesel se stabilne s rezervou do 300 W
