I've seen a few app maintainers lately mentioning that bleeding edge libraries are required and that distro X in version Y isn't supported.
This is why you should have a Flatpak manifest in your repository; not just on Flathub.
It lets contributors easily build and test the development version without having to worry about the host.
Upgrading or downgrading your OS shouldn't stop anyone from working on your app.
Not a huge sample size, but the results are in!
If you use #Matrix, drop an #AltText comment below your images and screencasts for #ScreenReader, #Braille and other #Accessibility tools until we get support in the spec:

..still no mouse driven, simple add a desktop App icon? till you learn this .. remain banished in the paleolithic, no deployment, till you you can demonstrate basic userland concepts . . . After being kneecapped by a #patents troll years ago, #Mozilla Location Services, the only somewhat trusted (non-Google/Apple) "Wi-Fi positioning system" (geolocation based on triangulating collected #WiFi SSIDs), is now shutting down: https://github.com/mozilla/ichnaea/issues/2065
MLS was how #GeoClue could get a meters-accurate location without a #GPS receiver / sky line-of-sight.
It was used by many #GNOME / #KDE apps to get instantaneous neighborhood-level location (for maps, local weather…) on #Linux laptops.

About the true purpose of systemd
I've been involved with #GNOME, #KDE, #freedesktop and #postmarketOS, ...
I've met @pid_eins and other prominent figures behind closed doors
I can confirm from first-hand experience that systemd is indeed a conspiracy to make better operating systems with Linux
People dislike #flatpak for the fact that it uses more disk space than native applications. I don’t think it is that big of an issue. But couldn’t it be solved be letting the base system, the DE (like #GNOME and #KDE) use the flatpak runtimes from outside. I mean you can’t break out of a container, but can’t you break into it?
Could for example #GNOME use #GTK which comes packaged in the flatpak GNOME runtime?
Why would that be a silly idea?
Who thought middle click paste would be a good idea?
I personally think it is really annoying, more so when I can not reliably disable it as a user (easily, without terminal magic).
Are there even any Benefits to that "feature"? why do most #linux distros enable this?

Ok, so I'm a few days late, but I have been using my new OnePlus 6 with #GNOME Shell mobile and #postmarketOS, aside from a few issues (the camera not working, but that's being worked on, GPS not really working, weird "Headphones" and "Earpiece" outputs showing, GNOME being a bit laggy, mobile data randomly stops), I have switched my SIM card over and it surprisingly hasn't been too bad.
Maybe I'll try #KDE #Plasma Mobile soon as well :D

I'm still wondering whether I should install KDE Connect or not. On the one hand, great smartphone integration on the computer, on the other hand: do I really need it? Longer battery life is more important to me, and for the few times I want to transfer photos to the computer, I can also connect the USB cable.

Did you that calDAV has a journal feature? I use it to keep meeting notes stored alongside my calendar; no need to go hunting for notes when you can just click on the date the meeting took place in your email / calendar client! I've been using KDE's Kontact for this on my GNU/Linux PC, and I just discovered @jtx for Android which I use alongside @davx5app.
Hey #gnome and #kde people, since you are at #fosdem could you maybe discuss what would it take to make a common toolkit (Linux toolkit?) that would appeal to both #c and #cpp devs? Basically covering both platforms so we could converge. Maybe #swiftlang? Fork of #Kotlin native? Seems to me we would be better off with people writing mobile apps for Linux desktop, than people writing web apps and electron garbage on desktop.
