Updated to #fedora43 and #kde plasma 6.5. As always, the process is smooth, fast, well-documented. It baffles me how macOS and windows became more and more clunky and broken, while overall Linux is stable requiring minimum maintenance.

Fedora has released Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop Edition 43 to the public. The Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop Edition is well suited for many needs. It combines the reliable and trusted Fedora Linux base with the KDE Plasma Desktop environment.
KDE is on a roll lately, and keeps on rolling with today's release of KDE Plasma 6.5. As the project itself notes, this release focuses on relatively small improvements, refinements, and other niceties, without making any massive changes. With Linux desktops taking accessibility more seriously lately than ever before, I want to focus on the accessibility improvements first.
"The #Orca screen reader now announces caps lock state changes, and screen readers will now describe the Shortcuts and Autostart pages more optimally. A new grayscale color filter for people sensitive to colors, developers have done a full pass to eliminate bright flashes in the UI, and the desktop zoom feature will now follow the text insertion point. Keyboard navigation has been improved, and a few other small changes have been to improve #accessibility."

OK Linux folks. With #KDE hitting 29 years old, I'm curious about switching my gaming PC from Windows 11 to KDE. The games I play are listed on ProtonDB as being gold or platinum, so I think I'm good as far as gaming goes, but I have some other software concerns.
What do y'all use for cloud file storage/syncing?
What do you use for image editing/creation?
Where can I find out if my Razer Leviathan and HyperX mic will work on KDE?

Weiß noch nicht ob ich dabie bleibe. Ich muss mich ehct bei sehr vielen DIngen umgewöhnen und einiges umbiegen bzw. nach meinen Bedürfnissen konfigurieren. Aber eigentlich will ich den Desktop ja nicht zu stark verbiegen... An anderen Stellen vermisse ich Features.
Nein, ist natürlich nicht alles blöd: Gnome ist wirklich schick und fühlt sich wie aus einem Guss an, außerdem gibt es auch wirklich tolle #GnomeCircle Apps.
Gibt es tolle Exklusiv-Features oder Workflows, die ich mir mal anschauen sollte? 👀
Die geschmeidigste Version war, glaub ich, die 14. Ich bedauere, dass man danach den #Unity #Desktop aufgegeben hat.
Er hat m. M. nach ein innovatives Bedienkonzept gehabt. Schließlich möchte ich kein besseres Windows, weshalb ich mit dem #KDE Desktop oder #Linux #Mint nie richtig warm geworden bin. Das sind trotzdem gute Projekte.

It is volunteer work (so very likely no payment) and the artwork will have to have permissive license such as CC-BY-SA. And I understand for many artists that's a lot to ask.. But you never know if you don't ask right?

My mom has been making these #amigurumi #KDE #konqui for a while, we bring them to events and people exchange them for donations to the project. According to her logs she has made 161 of them, which means people have donated around 2000 euros to KDE thanks to her. It's also her birthday, so happy birthday mom!
