I don't have an opinion on the broader Wordpress situation, but seeing a security exception used to wield power in a broader controversy is extremely worrying.
Open source communities trust security teams with exceptional powers, and weakening that trust damages everyone.
In the blindness advocacy groups and online communities I'm familiar with, I don't think we discuss weakness much if at all. I think we try to deny or downplay the fact that being disabled means being weak in some ways. We try to focus on what we *can* do instead, and when requesting accessibility accommodations, we say we just do things differently. At least that's my impression.

dvoje siky proti sobě. Průchozí to je, já normálně tím vodu vypouštím při proplachu. Jen jsou zevnitř zrezlý ty závity, takže se tam nic nehne.
Ale vypouštět tím bazén 5x3x1.5m ... 😁 Normálně si na to půjčuju ponorné čerpadlo, ale když bych to vyřešil na týhle výpusti. Tak jen dokoupím hadici a můžu to vypouštět po celé zahradě.
v Žatci máme jen VHV a ti zklamali... Doufal jsem, že bych to tam našel, protože vlastně Ekostavby (partner VHV) to stavěli, a všechno co tu vidíš, najdeš u nich dneska trochu modernější 😆

I mean yes it‘s a poisoned data source, and it‘s definitely a compromise, but it‘s not like "I want this from my digital assistant" isn‘t data that can be used in some shape or form.
Current systems are basically outsourcing to call-center style labeling factories — with a bit of ML laundering in between — & this fully pre-dates the LLM boom (Facebook M,? & when Siri was new)
Recent LLM innovation has let them do more of the ML laundering and time shifting by throwing compute at it
But they're still mostly emulating what a call-center drone can do

Interesting. I enjoy reading his articles, but I couldn't possibly disagree more with the view on static typing. Regarding comments, I think there's a useful distinction between comments that involve hypotheticals and are just restating what the code says, and comments which indicate exceptions, edge cases, or go through the cases.
@modulux Yeah, I've also come to disagree with him on static typing. Probably not surprising since I like Rust. But at least that's static typing with local type inference, not the old, painfully verbose Java style.
True, type inference makes it considerably less painful since one isn't force to annotate everything all over the place. On the other hand he also includes inferring languages like Haskell and, presumably, ML and friends.
I was totally with him on dynamic typing when I went through my Lua phase in the mid to late 2000s; that happened to correspond with discovering his writing for the first time.
Big big thank you to folks who tested this on FreeBSD and OpenBSD and helped us to potentially track down a memory bug. Hopefully switching DB drivers for those operating systems helps :)
