BestSpeak V0.17 (eurpod.com/BestSpeak.nvda-addo…): Exceptions during TTS playback are now logged with log.error for better error logging. Added log.error("Error in _speakBg", exc_info=True) to capture any unexpected exceptions in _speakBg as well. self._reading indicates whether the driver is actively processing speech. If left as True due to an exception, the system might incorrectly assume that a speech chunk is being processed, preventing subsequent operations or causing unexpected behavior, so we now set it as false in 0.17. This may stop too many speech events from queuing up and crashing the driver. A quick test yielded still some OS14 errors when holding down space, but no squealing noises.

Kupoval jsem s dcerou před pár dny vánoční stromeček. Chtěla, abych koupil trochu větší než obvykle. Prodavač mi říká "nechcete ten kmen dole zúžit?", já říkám "to je dobrý, máme velký stojánek a kdyžtak si to osekám". Sekyrkou je to přece hračka.

Dnes jsem se do toho dal a dost jsem se opotil, když vidím, že ten stojánek zas tak velký není, a když jsem si uvědomil, že tu trampskou sekyrku, kterou jsem měl úplně jasně před očima u toho prodavače stromků, jsem vlastnil naposledy před asi čtvrtstoletím.

Nakonec jsem vzal ten nejtěžší kuchyňský nůž a udělal z něj mačetu. Kůra a lýko šla dobře, dřevo a suky hůř, ale už to za chvíli bude. Jsem přece bojovník, že ano.

Day 23 - #adventOfIOSAccessibility. Sometimes your UI will just not optimally scale for large text sizes. Simple changes, for accessibility sizes, like composing elements vertically instead of horizontally, reducing the number of columns, and allowing more lines of text, can do the trick most times.

Calendar of Advent iOS Accessibility. Day 23. Adapt your UI. Example of Apple's Stock app. The first one has the default text size. The second one uses the largest possible text size. In the first one, the symbol and name are at the left of its row, there is a small graph in the middle, and the value and percentage change to the right. In the second one, the symbol, name, value, and percentage change are at the left, taking most of the row width, and the only thing to the right is the graph. That gives plenty more horizontal space for the text.
