GNOME's default Image Viewer (Loupe) no longer accepts AI generated contributions. You can read more about the reasons for my decisions in my discourse post.
I'm planning to adopt the same policy for the rest of the projects I maintain. And I think others should as well.

Loupe no longer allows generative AI contributions
I just merged an addition to Loupe’s contribution guidelines that bans the use of AI generated content in contributions. For now, I came up with the following text. I’m in favor of adopting a similar policy for all official GNOME software.GNOME Discourse

How do I verify my account on Mastodon and the Fediverse? | Fedi.Tips – An Unofficial Guide to Mastodon and the Fediverse

@zeitverschreib Ah, I should have guessed -- there appears to be a problem showing your verification on beige.party, or possibly my browser. (@theropologist)
I can confirm that I see the verification tick when visiting the tutanova profile on mastodon.social directly. 👍
@theropologist When I inspect the HTML from tuta.com, I don't see rel="me" on the link to their mastodon account.
So, now I think I understand why beige isn't recognizing it - but I don't understand why mastodon.social does! 🙃

@theropologist Another counter-example of one that does work:
(at)accrescent(at)infosec.exchange
This one does have rel="me".
@theropologist The issue isn't limited to beige; I checked via infosec.exchange, and they don't recognize it either.
@Tutanota, perhaps there is a problem after all?
The verification isn't working quite right - it's ok on mastodon.social, but not other servers (infosec.exchange and beige.party, for example)
This might be because the HTML code for your verification link lacks the rel="me" attribute, which is important according to some instructions?
Here's the snippet of your page's source code:

So, practically. If Canada were to join the EU, what steps would be required? We'd obviously need to apply, like other countries. Certainly greater presence in Brussels.
Would we need to adopt the Euro? I'd think so, but not sure if that is a good idea.
We'd have to upgrade a lot of our standards
It is called Enlargement. Seems appropriate for the era we are in.

I have this incredible kitchen scale for over 20 years now. It has a swipeable screen and does not need recharging.
You put sth on it, then touch the screen with your finger and swipe right and can measure whatever you put in next.
I do not fully understand the math behind it and how it uses the gravitational fields and atom bonds. But it works reliably and it's always on. Truly magic.
It does not show news and weather, though.💁🏻♂️
✏️ New blog post: Views on views (looking for feedback)
In AGWG, the working group that makes WCAG, we have been working on potentially changing what is “web page” today to something like “view”, so that the standard works better in other contexts, like native apps and VR.
I gathered some, ahem, views and added my own, feedback much appreciated!

I need a logo for my FOSS project. The current logo is a placeholder I threw together so I'm looking for anything that's more stylish/creative. Here's the current logo and the only real requirement I have is that the K and the VM stand out since it's supposed to be a play on Linux KVM.
If you're interested please provide a portfolio of previous works you've done (preferably logos, but anything with text in it will do) and a quote if possible.
Payment can be made via PayPal, Ko-Fi, CashApp, or credit card.

An overview of reviews made with MapComplete – 2025 edition
Two years ago, I did an analysis on the reviews made with mangrove.reviews – you can find this analysis here.
In this blog, I’ll basically do the same analysis as then, but just with the latest data (as of 28 febr 2025).
Mangrove.reviews client breakdown
| Total | 2175 |
| mangrove.reviews | 834 |
| mapcomplete.org | 798 |
| toggenburg.swiss | 229 |
| thurgau-bodensee.ch | 70 |
| ostschweiz.ch | 55 |
| heidiland.com | 42 |
| wengen.swiss | 27 |
| open-reviews.net | 20 |
| winterthur.com | 15 |
| beta.localtownguide.com | 11 |
| open-reviews.orderingstack.com | 13 |
| jungfrauregion.swiss | 10 |
As is visible, about one third of all reviews came from mapcomplete, only a fraction less then mangrove.reviews itself.
It is also surprising that there are quite a few swiss websites in there.
Map themes
The most popular themes to create reviews were:
- Food: 271 reviews
- Shops: 117 reviews
- Cafes and pubs: 84
- Playgrounds: 53
- Pets: 42
- Toerisme vlaanderen (commissioned and hidden theme): 30
- Cyclofix: 26
- Campersite: 23
- Fritures: 21
- Personal theme: 21
No big surprises here, seems like food is by far the most popular theme to give reviews on.
Language
From the reviews that had a text, the language breakdown is pretty much in line with the changeset-language statistics.
- English: 102
- Dutch: 42
- German: 37
- Russian: 14
- French: 12
Locations
The MapComplete-reviews are geographically clustered in Europe and the US – not surprisingly where the biggest and well-connected popuplations live.
However, South America and South-East-asia are starting to popup as well.
Flanders is overrepresented in Europe. MapComplete is mainly developed there and had a few projects going on there, so there are more reviews.
Conclusion
The reviews work and there is a slow but stable growth in the number of them. The results are predictable and, dare I say it, downright boring.
It must be said that the reviews have gotten a higher visibility in the MapComplete UI, which definitively helped to get more reviews.
The script to calculate the analysis is here
