I had not considered removing dotdot-sequences from URLs when the dots are URL encoded! There is always another level of "fun" with URLs.

I've donated to both you and Signal, so a lot of people aren't averse to spending money if they think it's a worthy product and they have some extra cash. Antagonizing users by calling them "free riders" however will cause those of us who would have donated to not only not do that, but not recommend an app or service to others who also might have eventually donated or bought something.
