Less than 35% of Americans make 100K and they are NOT going to see their taxes increase at all. In fact, their taxes will be reduced for 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028 under the Harris administration.

1 in 16 Americans do NOT make 250K.

1% of Americans make 400K+.

5% of Americans make 350K+.

The GOP will only reduce taxes for the 1% and the 5% of Americans. Kamala Harris plans to make those who make over 400K pay their fair share.

the embossers work fine with adhesive plastic, too, if you need to print something for reusing.

That red skirt I just mended with the little embroidered daisy? Welp, got it stuck on something and ripped the waist opening of it, didn't I. 😆 I don't have thread or a patching fabric that exactly matches so I went the scrap piece of fabric of a good weight and highly visible mending route. I'm thinking it's going to be either a colourful fern or a peacock feather, but bed calls me.

A short reminder that, starting tomorrow (2024-11-06), there will be a row of maintenance windows at our main service provider. Hopefully you won't notice any of them – and regarding our F-Droid repo, our mirrors will have you covered. Just the web server might (shortly) be unavailable.

If you want to keep an eye yourself, be welcome to visit our monitor at monitor.izzysoft.de/

The US Navy equipped dolphins with cameras to study their unique underwater hunting abilities. The footage captured showed remarkable dolphin teamwork and precision in capturing fish, demonstrating the animals' incredible diving skills and adaptability in varied environments. This innovative research sheds light on how dolphins utilize their sonar and echolocation for hunting.

So,, my department for the blind and visually impaired is outright giving me a computer packed with the latest jaws version and a 40 cell braille display. I did not expect this at all! It's super awesome and I'm totally getting Leasy with it too. Is anyone else excited about getting new tech this year? #blind
in reply to Nick's world

it has acapela text-to-speech in it. My first Index used prerecorded Human speech, but the newer ones have software.
The control panel is labeled in Braille.
in reply to Eden Linnea

@EdenLinnea yeah. I mean hammering holes in things is never going to be a silent operation, but I've heard much quieter machines.

it's not designed for huuuge batch jobs, of course. I can run off a 30 page bug history for work whilst popping out for a coffee and nobody's bothered. I would like a better way of binding my paper, perhaps i'll ask for a binding machine as a christmas present.

in reply to Nick's world

@EdenLinnea of course. Lots of ways of keeping sheets of paper together. I dislike staples, they make reading a double-sided Braille sheet fiddlesome.

podcast 31 has just been uploaded to my podcast site. This podcast is a review of the Raynic Weather Radio moddle CR1009. you can either go to the main page located at

we don't have anything comparable to your national weather radio service here. Our shipping forecast goes out a few times a day and there are specialist marine radios that use VHF I think, but tuning into 24/7 weather on a home receiver seems a pretty different way of doing it to me here in the UK.

#AndroidAppRain at apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid today brings you 12 updated and 3 added apps:

* Aurora Store: the inofficial PlayStore client has been added on special request. At IoD it's one of the #reproducibleBuilds 🛡️
* Aegis: the 2FA app has been added at special request, too
* OpenBible: download & read the bible in different languages 🛡️

RB: 320 apps (26.5%)

Enjoy your #free #Android #apps with the #IzzyOnDroid repo :awesome:

in reply to IzzyOnDroid ✅

Out of curiosity, what's the reason for having apps that already exist in f-droid?
in reply to Leeloo

@leeloo F-Droid describes itself as decentralized and stresses the importance to not be "locked into F-Droid as the monopoly app provider" (see: f-droid.org/en/2022/02/05/dece…) – so we help with that. Furthermore, several apps have #reproducibleBuilds at IoD but not there (e.g. Aurora Store). IzzyOnDroid performs extra checks (see: android.izzysoft.de/articles/n…). So this increases security and also resilience. Also, some people prefer one place and others the other, developers included 😉

🗳️ 🇺🇸 Election Day is an official holiday here at Adafruit. All employees have a paid day off so they can get out and vote, or volunteer for poll working, etc ! While we will still be moving orders on Tuesday, November 5 there may be some delays or longer ship times. Please allow extra time and plan accordingly!

Got it all done. By that I mean returning broken electronics and the haircut, of course! Now now, all you "go vote" peeps, chill, I early voted on Friday.
It would be my luck to arrive at Best Buy though, only to be told that their fuse had blown and the store was opening later in the day instead. Had to go to Staples, where they tried to get me to sign up for their rewards program just to get store credit for the items I return. Not too worth it to me.
Back to work for the last 2 hours now.

Because of sudden car trouble I had to order groceries today. Guess who just realized their food was sitting on the porch for an hour because the delivery person never rang the doorbell???
in reply to Chris 🌱

That's the worst! Decent refund policy at least?

I had to start temperature-checking food deliveries that were left out so I didn't use unsafe foods.

I got so fed up of waiting for Meta to launch their AI for the Meta Raybans that I took the plunge and set up a VPN. Lo and behold, my glasses now have the AI feature. I’m really enjoying the ability to ask questions about my surroundings & get quick responses, but some of the answers have confirmed that AI is far from infallible. Today, I found a jar in the cupboard which I was pretty sure contained honey. I asked Meta and it said it was a jar of peanut butter. Wrong; it was honey, as confirmed by Be My AI. I suppose the contents are a similar colour, but I thought Meta might read the label.
But if it gets this sort of thing wrong, I’m not convinced it is going to take over the world. If it does, we’re in trouble.

in reply to Gordon Anthony

Not only that. I noticed that when Meta AI provides the wrong answer, it tends to blubber on and on as if trying to jiustify its folly! :)

I'm on a social media fast, which is why you haven't heard much from me, but I did want to share one cool thing. Our stuff has been 8-bit RGB for a while, but it's increasingly clear that's not going to cut it in an HDR world. Inspired by bevy_color and some conversations, I've started a color crate: github.com/linebender/color

If you're into color, I'd love your feedback. If you use color in Rust, let me know whether this crate would be useful, or what might be changed.
