*How secure is UnifiedPush?*
It’s a legitimate question that comes up from time to time. While the question is fairly short, the answer requires a few details. Behind the question of security, it’s also often about privacy.

The simple complicated setup: Supported #curl versions and end of life
daniel.haxx.se/blog/2025/05/14…
The other week we shipped the 266th curl release. This counter is perhaps a little inflated since it also includes the versions we did before we renamed it to curl, but still, there are hundreds of them.daniel.haxx.se
I never understood why people insist on doing anything but this, or worse, insist that other people do it (*). A single version with an extremely good upgrade experience is all you need.
* This of course does not exclude the possibility to have security fixes to a previous major version.

Stackoverflow bans LLMs: meta.stackoverflow.com/q/42183…
I missed this but still important news.
There is nothing shocking in the rationale, the quality is just not high enough and the content just sounds right enough that the effort to review swamps out good content.
This is super hilarious because the reason I quit StackOverflow is because they sold my posts to an LLM company in countervention of the license, and then when I tried to remove my posts they banned me because they say deleting my own posts violates the license

For an upcoming episode of our podcast #StroongeCast, @MoonCat and I want to know about things you say you'd *never* do, until circumstances dictate you just might have to, in order to survive.
I said I'd never eat dog food. The thought makes me feel sick honestly, but would I stick to that if that was literally all we had left?
Go wild with your suggestions, we'll try to readout as many as we can in the episode.
If you're new and haven't checked it out before, you can find us on all the regular podcasty-type places. Find some of them, plus our RSS feed here:

Great news! While Trump is busy dismantling the Library of Congress, the German National Library of Science and Technology (@tibhannover) is preparing for more to come: they've downloaded the entire 10 TB of the arXiv preprint server and safeguarded more than 2.6 million scientific articles. Thank you so much! This was especially needed since, last year, the arXiv decided to shut down its mirror network.

Thank you, Liberal Party of Canada, for announcing your new cabinet on a platform that I can't read posts from without an account on X, which I removed thanks to Elon Musk, the same person who made posts on X no longer public. Why are you still using X, especially for important public announcements?
I have used the contact link in the email.
"You recently sent me an email announcing a new Liberal cabinet.
However, your link sent me to your X post, which is NOT a public post accessible publicly by the Canadians who would want to read it.
I, along with many other conscientious Canadians, have deleted our accounts off Twitter (mine was over 14 years old) or later X, because of the incredible data insecurity created by Musk, and hostile anti-humanitarian environment under Musk. It is incredibly irresponsible for our government to make public announcements on such a platform.
