After attempting to modernize django-admin2, I realized we needed a fresh approach: an admin interface that works like the rest of Django, built on generic CBVs, plugins, and view factories. Meet Django Admin Deux: a proof-of-concept admin where CRUD operations are just actions, knowledge transfers both ways, and everything feels like Django.

My son is in Ontario on Remembrance Day (our name for Armistice Day in Canada) for the first time and he was shocked it wasn’t a public holiday like it is in B.C.

He was disappointed to be in Ottawa, just a few minutes away from the National War Memorial by metro, but couldn’t attend because he has classes today.

I agree with him. It is very strange that this day, of all days, is not a national day.

So instead he rushed through his class so he could at least get to the small ceremony held on campus.

How sad that there is so little time and space made for it in our largest and most populous province.

Even in our nation’s capital.

🐾 Lillys Tagebuch – 11.11.2025 🐾

Also ehrlich, ständig nur lieb sein – das ist auf Dauer echt anstrengend 😼. Ich bin schließlich Katze, kein goldener Schoßengel mit Fell und Pfoten! Heute habe ich mal wieder die Nerven meiner Zweibeiner auf Belastbarkeit getestet. Ganz wissenschaftlich natürlich.

Zuerst bin ich über die Tastatur spaziert 🖥️ – man muss ja wissen, ob die Buchstaben noch alle an ihrem Platz sind. Danach ging’s über den hohen Glastisch, auf dem sich ein ganzes Technikmuseum befand: Kameras, Handy, Ladegeräte… Ich habe nichts umgeschmissen – fast nichts 😇. Dann kurz einen Abstecher auf den Bürotisch, wo Kaffeetasse ☕ und Papierstapel eine herrliche Versuchung boten. Einmal Pfote drauf – und schwupps, flog ein Zettel wie ein Schmetterling durchs Zimmer. Wunderschön!

Mein persönliches Highlight 🎯: der Kühlschrank! Ein magischer Ort mit Licht, Düften und unendlichen Möglichkeiten. Ich bin einfach reingehuscht – und ehrlich gesagt: Ich hatte nicht vor, so schnell wieder rauszukommen. Es war gemütlich! Leider war mein Aufenthalt nur kurz… Mecker, Mecker, Tür zu.

Und als wäre mein Arbeitstag nicht schon aufregend genug, stehen hier neuerdings komische Geräte herum, die heiß pusten oder sogar offenes Feuer haben 🔥. Angeblich, weil „die Heizung immer noch nicht funktioniert“. Tsss. Ich finde, mir hätte man das zuerst sagen müssen! Schließlich bin ich hier die wichtigste Person im Haus 👑🐾.

Na gut, ich geb’s zu – vielleicht habe ich heute ein bisschen übertrieben. Aber wenn meine Zweibeiner mich dann anschauen, seufzen und sagen: „Ach Lilly…“, dann weiß ich: Sie lieben mich trotzdem. Hoffe ich zumindest. 😺💛

How would you move the zroot zpool from a #ZFS mirror of 2x 450GB to 2x 128GB devices? Ideally, I'd use `zpool replace` but that can't go to smaller devices.

Das Zentrum für Disability Studies in Hamburg wird geschlossen, was katastrophal ist. Das Drumherum finde ich allerdings noch schlimmer, ein Thread (wird lang, sorry - wobei ne, eigentlich nicht):

1. Die Info ist nicht neu, die Schließung ist seit August bekannt, die Professur seit Oktober nicht mehr finanziert. Beispielsweise berichtete die taz: taz.de/Sparpolitik-in-Hamburg/…
Warum das Thema kein größerer Aufschrei war? Sind wir ehrlich: Weil es niemanden juckt. Ja es juckt dich, es juckt mich, aber politisch, gesamtgesellschaftlich, wissenschaftlich? Das Einstampfen von Critical Studies wie den Disability Studies passt in den Zeitgeist des aufstrebenden Faschismus. Vielmehr noch: Critical Studies werden schon immer unter dem angeblichen Verdacht der Pseudowissenschaft "kritisiert". Warum? Weil sie bestehende Wissenssysteme in Frage stellen. Weil sie grundlegendere Fragen stellen und die Universalität von Wissen in Frage stellen. Weil sie Fragen wie: "Wer spricht, wer forscht, wer veröffentlicht, wer wird gehört" in den Fokus rücken. Critical Studies sind und waren immer auch ein Kampf darum, welche Fragen gestellt werden dürfen, welche Fragen wissenschaftlich ernst genommen werden, welche Personen ernst genommen werden, welches WISSEN zählt. Das Einstampfen von Critical Studies ist nicht nur epistemische Gewalt, sondern eine Niederlage für aktivistische, emanzipatorische Kämpfe - das ist fatal.

2. Der Hamburger Senat schützt sich selbst damit, dass sie ja weiter ganz doll tolle Inklusion machen, sie ja das super Projekt der Bildungsfachkräfte nach dem Vorbild der CAU Kiel etabliert hätten. Direkt vorweg: Das Projekt an sich ist nicht das allerschlechteste, darum geht es auch nicht. Es geht vielmehr darum, dass dieses Projekt dafür genutzt wird, die ausbleibende Weiterfinanzierung der Disability Studies zu rechtfertigen. In dem Projekt werden 8(!!!!) Personen mit "intellektuellen Beeinträchtigungen" qualifiziert, die bisher in WfbM arbeiteten ODER den Anspruch gehabt hätten.
