@schmaker já jsem jako dvanáctileté děcko vyjel na největší kopec v okolí a pak to pustil, bez helmy, na obyčejném horáku, řidiči na mě troubili, maximum jsem měl na tachometru 74. Se divím, že jsem to dětství vůbec přežil, když jsem dělal takové blbosti.
@Mac_CZ Jo to síla , já už jsem měl fakt strach při té rychlosti. V loni mi to podjelo na kruháči a první na co člověk spadne je hlave. To jsem jel docela pomalu a hned helma praskla. @sesivany @schmaker

V podobným věku jsem se málem rozšlehal o různý věci. Auto v protisměru, kámen u potoka, ... Helma byla samozřejmě tou dobou sprostý slovo.
Ale těch variant je víc - například mě nikdy neohrozilo 230V ze zásuvky, ale v anténním konektoru jsem je nečekal (dal jsem si 3x po sobě, potřetí už jsem visel - bylo mi cca 14 - upadl PEN v zásuvce před :/ )

The thing that has always bugged me about these records is that they get 15 seconds of inspection time first (and then they always take a few breaths between inspection end and solve start).
It's like measuring development time by the time it takes to run your tests...
@raniz sure, or the odd combination of luck and skill necessary since it seems necessary to be in a shape that can be solved in < 40 moves for anyone to have a chance of a WR. But I still find it fascinating...
My fastest time was about 45 seconds. I've seen videos of these speed solvers, but it just boggles my mind how it's even possible, mechanically, let alone cognitively.
@joeygibson yeah, my son got one of those speed cubes a few years ago and eventually managed to reach the 40-45 seconds range but man, its hard to understand how anyone can do sub 10 seconds!

As I recently got back into the Beatles music and have been investigating some new and updated releases, I was reminded of something that has been irritating me in the song "Strawberry Fields Forever" since the first time I heard it. For one, it is in general in a weird pitch. Somewhere between A and B-flat major. I have absolute pitch, and this cent-divergence between two semitones has me thrown off anyway. But in the middle of the song, from one verse to the chorus, the pitch changes by another few cents, and from this point on, John sounds like the song is playing on a cassette tape recorder that runs on low battery. The voice is clearly not natural sounding.

@below It is not the only song they slowed down or sped up the tapes to modify John's vocals, but this one, at least to me, is very pronounced. And like I said, it has been irritating me for almost 40 years, since I first heard the song on the Blue Album for the first time.
I don't have time to watch the video sorry but in the book by recording engineer and mixer Geoff Emerick he talks about joining the two takes together and how they had different tempos and were a semitone apart. He matched them using tape varispeed. It's on the "cos I'm GOING to" on the second chorus.
Great audio book of that book, read by Martin Jarvis and he really acts it out. Recommended!
@kawaiipunk Thanks for the suggestion. this is also what David Bennett talks about in the video, and even plays some of the tapes used, from the Sgt. Pepper Deluxe Edition which apparently has all those takes available for everybody to listen to.
I'm curious, how sensitive is your absolute pitch? How far off does a note have to be from standard tuning for you to notice? I mostly notice if, for example, the tuning is about halfway between A and B-flat, such that it could plausibly be either a sharp A or a flat B-flat. You know what I mean? One example that's borderline for me is "Mary Jane's Last Dance" by Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, though I guess it's closer to a sharp A minor.
@matt Yeah, it is kind of sensitive if it is too far in-between actual notes. For example, Oasis' Don't Look Back In Anger is just on the fringe of still being acceptible as C major. But one that frequently throws me is Anastazia's A Day In Your Life. It is a very low G Minor.
