Finally. I think the PayPal option should have been there since the very beginning. Nice to have more options. Thanks, Amazon.

I hope it's not only for the United States though. But yes, it is annoying they don't have it till now.

Linkedin can’t use me for AI bullshit because I don’t engage with them.

Literally everything they do is a dark pattern. Often, it’s an Xzibit Yo Dawg level of dark-pattern-ception based on lies.

Instead, maybe opt into that shit, and FUCK IT AAAAAALLLLL UP! Absolutely shitpost with the dumbest nonsensical shit you can imagine. Hell, have your worst markov generator post 20 times a day.

Ruin them.

hey so just to let people in the US know, if you are on SSI and have a disability that began before age 26 (46 as of 1st Jan 2026) you can apply for an ABLE account. this account will let you have up to $100,000 without losing your SSI.

Edit: per @MindmeshLink the requirements are SSI, SSDI, *or* a Doctors Note, if that helps!

@bagder I'm learning how to use curl_multi_socket_action in libcurl by using epoll. I really appreciate the thorough documentation on the curl website as well as the example code in the source tree. Thanks so much!
in reply to Jeremy Stephens

It makes me happy to hear. I spend a lot of energy on the documentation.

I really, truly can not express how mind-blowing this Windwalker title anthem is. This is a stock Apple ][ running at 1 MHz. No third-party sound card. Just the built-in $C030 speaker that blips.

I try to file bugs whenever I encounter them in my live-on device at work. Often it's stuff other people have already found and my bug is often duped. But EVERY NOW AND THEN I find something that no one else has filed!

Today was one such day!I found a bug in Spoken Content (which I use all the time for language learning), and now it's getting fixed. Little wins like this make the challenges of living on the company dogfood really worthwhile!

in reply to Sommer Panage

Wish us mere mortals could experience these fixing times. I filed quite a few a11y bugs through Feedback assistant, and none of them got a response or a fix.

@kranzkrone and, more important even, had to take action. They should have offered compensation, too, imho, as they can hardly claim it was an accident. Still good they acted, and did not simply try to sit it out.

Remember I have been saying since 2011 that Chrome is the new IE.

Yeah that long.

One thing that gives me #hope for the future of tech is the free screen reader for Microsoft Windows that's better than the built-in one created by Microsoft. NVDA has been around since 2005 and is still improving all the time, I have used it since 2010. Back then and even now, commercial screen readers charge ongoing fees for updates, while NVDA remains completely free. @NVAccess nvaccess.org/

Oi. I was bad. Went with an HP Spectre 2024. Mostly because 14-inch, and I could get it with 2 TB / 32 GB config as pick-up in store. Not sure how I'll feel about this. HP's fan wine has bothered me on my last laptop from them, I had a desktop from them break after about 3 years... But for 14-inches it's not bad, and AI stuff for me has more potential on Mac over buying a heavier build with a dedicated GPU. I checked out a lot of laptops, and interesting that 14-inchers are coming less with them

Trying to find a place to stay for the academic year in London. So far, three places have been all great and ready to offer a viewing until I mention I'm blind. Then it's all "are you sure you can go up stairs? Because I don't want to be responsible if you fall or anything".

Quoting literally. I'm not kidding. I don't so much mind that they don't know that the average blind person can go up and down stairs without a problem, but telling me to my face that they don't want to be responsible in those words is amazing. Seriously I love this.

in reply to Guillem Leon

Went to see this place. Was told the rest of the tenants were not comfortable with a guide dog and that they won't be able to have me. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable, but 1) the dog is with me all the time and I'm happy having him stay in the room when I go into communal areas and 2) it's of course unlawful to discriminate because of this.
And also of course, no matter how unlawful it is, the only thing I can do is complain, send them informative documents, etc unless I want to get into legal battle, which I don't have the money for. Of course it'd be much easier to stay in a place by myself, but in London I also don't have the money for that.
Soooooo yeaaaaah, if anyone knows anything about decent accommodation in London...

How come the only time Windows biometrics needs to rescan me for third party app access (including passkeys) is ...
Yep, ya guessed it. Immediately after I reauthenticate to windows itself.
This bothers me just like those websites where you reset your password and still have to log in.
Probably just getting grumpy in my old and tired state.

I wonder how many (good) Mastodon instances you could instantly shut down by convincing Wasabi to put all uploaded files through Photo DNA and close the accounts that get far too many hits.

Hi everybody, are you getting any new iPhones or AppleWatch how are you guys doing. I’m back. About a year and a half ago, I had a stroke, I couldn’t even write or talk with my iPhone or watch. I’m doing better now. I’m just to say hi to you guys.
in reply to David Goldfield

@DavidGoldfield hi David nice to but thank you so much hear you again. This is very good because it takes me a little long time because of the stroke. But thanks for talking with me. This helps a lot.
in reply to Randy Rusnak

Oh, of course, Randy. It's just so wonderful seeing you out here.

Hi @thunderbird@mastodon.online can you tell, where the profiles.ini is located when Thunderbird is installed as snap on ubuntu?

After almost a year since the last release, a new version of #Eyedropper is now available.
It now features a color editor, allowing to directly modify picked colors, a new warning page for unsupported systems (Thanks to @bragefuglseth for the illustration) and a rewritten color conversion backend.

The new version should be available on Flathub soon.
