Well I think I broke it somehow. I have my main google drive streaming to a foldr but my work one I cannot for what ever reason. it still shows I'm still adjusting advanced settings for my default google drive not my work one Using the GDrive app.

I don't know if this will work for you, but when I hneed to have multiple setups like this I have a different login on the machine for each type of account, work, personal, ham radio, etc. This way programs I use have their own specific areas that they can write too that don't conflict with other instances of the same application.
in reply to Khronos

@khronos tha twon't work. I can apparently set up more tha one account in google drive and switch as it will show both but I can't do two mount points for my home and work accounts. Or at least I dont' know how. or this mihgt be a restricton of my work account they set up.

After exploring #R2E, I've decided it might not be the best fit for my needs. Here's why:

1. R2E doesn't support #Inoreader's #OPML format, requiring manual feed addition.
2. I realized I have many feeds and need a more comprehensive solution.

I'm now considering #Miniflux, which can manage #RSS feeds, #Podcasts, and #YouTube subscriptions in one place.

Until I get my #RaspberryPi for Christmas, I'm weighing two options:
1. Self-host Miniflux on my #Windows PC using #Docker
2. Use their $15/year hosted plan temporarily

Fellow #techies, especially those interested in #accessibility and #SelfHosting: What would you recommend? Your insights would be greatly appreciated!

My son: “So, Disney is looking for a new CEO, and Andrew Wilson is on their list.”

Me: “Who’s that?”

Him: “The CEO of EA. The enshittification company would be hiring the enshittification CEO.”

Hello everyone! I just set up this new account?

Things seem pretty cool here on this "fediverse". What does that mean though, the "fediverse"? I hear it's using ActivityPub. Could anyone explain to me what that means? Thanks!

NEW: Security researchers have confirmed that iPhones running iOS 18 now automatically reboot if they are not unlocked for 72 hours.

The feature, called "inactivity reboot," will make life harder for thieves, law enforcement, and forensic experts trying to extract data from iPhones.

I love to go in-depth on the classics –cascade, grids, alignment, etc. But I can also teach the new hits: container queries, colors, layers, :has(), et al.

Let's get scheduled!

yikes, bsky removing or labeling Palestinian accounts as spam, ostensibly because they are following too many people or posting gofundmes, but according to these threads the problem looks too widespread to just be a coincidence from e.g. automated flagging. Can't find any response from their mod team. Composable moderation is good but i am not sure how the atproto labeling model addresses the baseline problem of scaling suspensions/bans - either they take a very light touch and you get a flood of nazis, or you need to lean on automated tools or overworked mods without enough context which has (hopefully accidentally, but still really bad) impacts like this.

Ok, super! But why then TRUMPets for BlueSky?

Bluesky is almost an exact copy of X, a centralized dickland. We really should just stop sheering for and jumping on these same toxic boats over and over again.

I rather prefer that people stay on X than that they go to Bluesky bragging believing they did a good thing.

I understand that you want to promote your product everywhere, but keep in mind that you might loose some if you're having to much parties on certain boats...

bluesky isn't the "corporate brother" of mastodon?

So I'm on my wife's drafts Gmail page in chrome, just sent a message from there. At the bottom of the page near the show/hide side pannel button, there is something weird that says in:sent xxx@xxx.org. Press tab to insert." Never saw that before, could this be a recent Email address she received a message from or sent a message too?
in reply to Jay Pellis

hmm, wonder if it's the live region not getting cleared after the last announced bit of text, so like, if you were adding an address in a field and it auto-announced it to you, maybe there's a chance Google isn't clearing out that live region's text, so you still see it. Only a guess though on the basis that it's at the bottom of the page area and context of the text getting told to you as a control hint.

in reply to @blk_intellect

I've never heard half of these said incorrectly, they sound like Americanisms.
Others are obviously homophones - baited and bated are obviously already pronounced the same.

'Mute point', 'tender hooks', 'Biting my time', 'Chock it up' and 'Pass mustard' would be grounds for divorce here.

It's okay that Bluesky will be successful and replace Twitter.

Most people like the service that a corporation gives to them. Most people are willing to trade the cons that go with that for the pros they receive.

I came to the Fediverse because I - personally - can't take those cons anymore. And the pros here work for me, again personally.

I don't need all the people in the world to use the Fediverse for me to enjoy the community here. Heck, most people didn't use Twitter. They used (and still use) Tiktok, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat more.

Let people use Bluesky. I hope they enjoy it and it enriches their lives. It doesnt for me, so I won't be going. But we already have a critical mass here and its fine.

Personally, I still see a lot of silver linings in this world, despite anything in the US that's happening. I know that's hard to read or believe, but hear me out: community and safe spaces will always exist for those wishing to seek them out or are in need. Maybe some things will go more underground, maybe states or areas of the US become havens for groups who resist, but in all of those situations, the commonality is community. Mastodon will remain as a place where positivity will shine, too

After sending a letter to HMRC in January, we finally got a response today (November 14). What did it say?

It said we should resend the letter, but include a declaration that its content is true. 🤦‍♂️

in reply to James Scholes

can't be sending potential false things to the revenue, now, can we?
They are ridiculous, honestly.
I have never had a straightforward experience with them.
The one time I thought I had back in January came back to bight me in the ass in June and showed they'd just utterly bollucksed things up.
Of the six people I spoke to on the phone, 5 didn't even pretend to give a shit.
Shocking.

@cachondo This is an overpayment relief claim, and their automated system has already sent me 90 percent or so of the refund. But apparently this last 10 percent that has to be handled manually is causing them a real hang-up!
in reply to Sean Randall

we had a nightmare.
I was claiming some of my wife's tax allowance, being married. She started work in January and we informed them as you're supposed to. We all agreed she'd not earn enough by March for the claim to change, but somehow that turned into me telling them I didn't want the extra allowance anymore, so they started taking it back from April.

A bunch of people around here saw a nice fireball yesterday morning, and I just talked to a local radio show about it. From what I can tell, this fireball wasn't anything particularly weird, perhaps on the brighter side of "normal" fireball range, and I think a lot of people saw it because of the time of day (~7:30am local), visible from Utah to mid-latitude Sask!

Great info (and videos!) on the American Meteor Society website: fireball.amsmeteors.org/member…

In case you ever see a fireball (a *very* bright shooting star), the American Meteor Society has a great reporting tool and tutorial. Just like "did you feel it" reports for earthquakes, this is very scientifically valuable crowd-source info!

(Also, I hate hate hate that they now have Starlink in their list of "this is not a fireball, please don't report this")

I have just canceled my subscription to #Tinder due to my inability to complete their photo verification process which is, despite appearing accessible, actually inaccessible to #blind people. One wonders whether they tested their so-called accessibility with real blind users. I tried contacting them about this issue, but only got a boilerplate response that really did not help me followed by radio silence when I said as much. (1/2)
