Already looking forward to the chaos the next time a major blindness convention is held at one of their hotels.

This weekend I wrote a #maubot that converts Spotify links shared in #Matrix chat rooms automatically to your preferred streaming service using #idonthavespotify <github.com/sjdonado/idonthaves…> by @sjdonado@threads.net.

So if you use Matrix I just opened a small "Luddites Unite" Channel on my Matrix Server. Dunno what it will become yet but setting up a "Luddite Slack" felt like it was the dumbest thing on the planet.

Tomorrow and saturday, we are doing a #surveillance #camera walk in #Ghent: see meetup.com/openstreetmap-belgi… and meetup.com/openstreetmap-belgi…

We will be adding them to #OpenStreetMap using @MapComplete

Following up on the previous vote, the never ending flood of requests and careful considerations, the Bluesky bridge fed.brid.gy/ is no longer suspended from #tchncs :tchncs:.
The bridge depends on active consent from any linked account in order to work and will only bridge public toots: fed.brid.gy/docs#visibility

If valid concerns arise / things get out of hand unexpectedly, we might change this decision in the future.

Just did the "Global Digital Accessibility Salary Survey" by #WebAim. Looking forward to the results!

Merci 🇫🇷, obrigado 🇵🇹!

#EUSolidarity means standing together when it matters most.

After Spain activated the #EUCivilProtection Mechanism in response to devastating floods, Portugal and France swiftly stepped in to help.

🤝 Over 150 team members and 60 vehicles joined forces with Spanish authorities, working tirelessly to clear streets of debris, pump out water and mud, remove vehicles, and transport rubble.

When we work together, we are stronger.

Can we please retire the myth that there is “no engagement” in the Fediverse?

Exhibit A: this badge from #Ivory showing the activity in my account over the past 22 hours — 344 notifications (likes, boosts, follows, replies).

I was on Twitter 1.0 for 14 years, had 4x as many followers on my personal account and never ever had these many interactions. Why?

The damn Big Tech algorithms penalizing my posts whenever I shared links.

I LOVE the Fediverse and its chronological feeds ❤️

There's an interesting #accessibility webinar next Tuesday by Funka on EN301549 requirements that go beyond WCAG.

Especially relevant for public sector bodies, which must fulfil EN301549 Annex A, some of which is beyond the scope of WCAG.

In 1945, the US War Department realized that its soldiers stationed in Europe fighting the Nazis probably needed a good pamphlet explaining what fascism was, and how it occurs ...

... so they wrote one

and in it, they noted that America was not at all immune to this

So they explained how fascism would come to the US

Heather Cox Richardson writes about it in the latest edition of her newsletter: heathercoxrichardson.substack.…
