A bit later, when the child is 2-3 weeks old in the womb as an embryo, she has three layers of cells in her tiny body: The top layer (ectoderm) which gives rise to her outermost layer of skin, central and peripheral nervous systems, eyes, and inner ears; the middle layer of cells (mesoderm), from which her heart, primitive circulatory system, bones, ligaments, kidneys and much of her reproductive system will form; and the inner layer of cells (endoderm) where the child’s lungs and intestines will develop. By week 7-8, all of the fetus’s major organs/parts (heart, brain, spine, limbs) are fully formed and mostly functional.
@plambrechtsen It would make more sense to me if you wanted to kill the rapist, since he's the perpetrator of the crime. It doesn't make sense that you instead would want to murder the unborn child, who, along with the mother, is the innocent party. Actually, at birth. Until birth, when the baby exits out into the world, it is fully dependent upon the mother’s body to sustain it. The pregnant mother carrying a fetus has no independence from that fetus until it is born.

Should we say that both of these individuals are not persons because of this? Even after birth, a baby is still totally dependent on his mother or at least some other human for sustenance. Why is he a person after birth and not before? How do you define personhood?

@DavidGoldfield @wendinoakland My problem with pro-life is that even when you have people like me who say at age 20 I do not want children. I never want children. Please tie my tubes. They say, no. You will maybe change your mind. And oh, with your condition, you can't get pregnant. I did indeed get pregnat. I lost 16 pounds in three two months. I was sick and almost dying myself. Turned out I was pregnant. I was in a very bad physical state at that point. So before that I may have judged people who got abortions but not now. but should I have continued to risk my own life, especially when the doctor said this doesn't look normal at all? Not being nasty with you. Just asking in a civilized conversation. In every other way I'm pretty conservative. I do not think abortion should be used as birth control. I also do not think a rape victim should be forced to carry a child to term. Even if they could adopt, it out, why should the girl be punished more? Yes, the fetus is already a collection of cells. Yes. It could be transplanted. But to me, the most important person before birth or at least during the first trimester is the mother. And until they can make it easier for people to decide earlier in their lives they never want to get pregnant, then I'd be all for not having it except in medical crises. I just think the late-term and abortions willy nilly are a problem.

HEAD’S UP: Do not allow browser notifications at dodgy sites!
My daughter was on my computer, using Microsoft Edge, was visiting one of her fansites, and she allowed a dodgy pop-up notification.
This resulted in Edge sending pop-up notifications to the notification bar that kept saying my computer had a virus. No matter how many times I clicked it to go away, the pop-up would keep appearing. And each time I clicked on it, it would take me to a dodgy site urging me to download “anti-virus software”.
So I did an anti-virus scan to see if there was a virus. No viruses detected. Turns out, after additional troubleshooting, I discovered there was not virus. It was just a browser notification. By turning off that notification, the pop-up finally went away.
I had a long talk with my daughter about not clicking everything she sees, and I think this is a lesson everyone should learn.
Attached image is that annoying pop-up. And by the way, Microsoft, allowing browser notifications to appear in the system notification bar is beyond stupid!
