Quebec man's death prompts coroner's call to tighten controls on diphenhydramine sales

Well fuck. Over the counter Reactine has been making my life less miserable...
"There was an uptick around 2020 after the so-called Benadryl TikTok challenge on social media invited users to consume large quantities of medication tablets containing diphenhydramine."
Oh, fuck TikTok/Facebook and others. You are allowing idiots to ruin it for everybody else.

It took almost 9.5 years to make 20,000 edits with OsmAnd for OpenStreetMap. Thanks to Quick Action it has recently become easier and faster. But since the introduction of Streetcomplete and especially Mapcomplete, I've been mapping a little less with OsmAnd lately. Let's see how long I need for the next 10,000.

Ville de Montréal has an ambitious EV charging station target of 11,000 by 2030 [READ: in LESS THAN 5 years]...
Seeing as it took Ville de Montréal more than 6 YEARS to install 3,000 EV charging stations, I'm not convinced.
We had our EV charging station installed in LESS than 1 month, so it's DOABLE, but I don't trust this city and its boroughs to get it done.

Attached: 1 image #GnuTaler released v1.0 🎉 – still considered a public beta, but hey! A step closer to have digital cash that is worth your money. 🤑 https://www.taler.net/en/news/2025-01.html #freesoftware #privacy #moneyMastodon
> As a payment system must comply with local laws in order to operate legally, GNU Taler must be designed to comply with these requirements. GNU Taler must provide an audit trail for investigators operating under the law. Furthermore, we consider levying of taxes as beneficial to society, and fair taxation requires income transparency. Thus, GNU Taler must enable authorities to track income.
okay
> Private. When you pay with Taler, your identity does not have to be revealed. Just like payments in cash, nobody else can track how you spent your electronic money. However, you obtain a legally valid proof of payment.
These two things are incompatible. So I don't know how they can claim to eliminate fraud but then allow anonymous payments?
You really think the EU or USA is going to allow GNU Taler payments when they're cracking down on cash and bank transactions because of KYC requirements?
Absolutely no way in hell this is going to be allowed in its current state. You'll have to pay the capital gains tax on everything you convert back to dollars in the USA, guaranteed.
Jesse Peltan:
"There is no reason solar panels can't last for 40+ years.
These panels in Switzerland were installed in 1982, and they're STILL producing at 80% capacity."
what's their efficiency though? Panels in 1982 were like... 5-15% depending on the type? You can replace those for cheap with recently retired industrial panels and get 2x
Solar panels *can* last 40 years, but it often doesn't make economic sense to keep them that long. At least not until we stop making performance gains altogether.
Y'all we got these mofos running scared.
