@federicomena's point reminds me of multiple Algorithms professors (undergraduate & graduate) ranting “constants never matter — it's always gonna be θ(㏒(n)), θ(n), θ(n⋅㏒(n)), θ(n²), θ(n³), or θ(2ⁿ)”.
Years later, I finally thought of the best retort: As a human,try running by hand (or foot) an algorithm that takes (1⋅n) time vs. (3⋅n) time & tell me again constants don't matter.
I realize this is orthogonal to profiling; I'm just noting the academic/practitioner divide on this.

I'm wondering if I'm using the wrong email address, but I can't see a clean way to find the email address associated with a GTS account from their cli tool, and glancing at the db schema also proved fruitless.
Is there an NVDA command to go to the beginning or end of the current word while in review? I know you can go to the next and previous word but at times, particularly on the commandline, there can be several spaces between words to make them look tabular and it can be a bit of a pain to quickly and accurately copy things in that scenario @NVAccess
@clv0 I just replied to Florian - basically no just the move to next / previous Word commands - as I suggested to him, all I can think of is trimming any excess space at the end after pasting somewhere?
The next and previous word commands are the only "jump to edge of word" commands. The only thing I can think of is to use those, and trim any excess space at the end after pasting?

does anyone know the keyboard command to show/hide the video window in winamp? when my VLC isn't streaming to Kalvins tv, I use that for videos, but when it is, I need to use winamps ability to play videos. normally if I open an mp4 file, the video window normally automatically opens, but lately it isn't for some strange reason. either that or it doesn't work with meta glasses videos for some strange reason.

A mí lo que me sorprende es que digas que es la nueva denominación porque diría que es antigua, en realidad. Andrés Bello es reconocido como el padre de la gramática castellana en américa, al menos, justo por haber escrito"Gramática de la lengua castellana destinada al uso de los americanos". Con tanta simplificación de la RAE últimamente, me he quedado a cuadros.
Pues sí, no es nada nueva, de hecho lo puse entre comillas, pero sí nueva para mi. Cuando yo estudié gramática aprendimos las formas tipo pretérito imperfecto, pluscuamperfecto, condicional compuesto, en vez de copretéreito, antepretérito, antepospretérito, etc.
Otro caso similar es el de la acentuación de las palabras, que nosotros aprendimos como agudas, llanas y esdrújulas, y ahora creo que son oxítonas, paroxítonas y proparoxítonas.
El condicional simple es pospretérito porque se usa para colocar en pasado el futuro: Juan dice que no irá (futuro) a Madrid. Juan dijo que no iría (pospretérito) a Madrid.
Lo de antepospretérito es porque indicaría acciones que el el futuro se habrían completado, pero vistas desde el pasado:
Digo que el viernes habré vuelto (antefuturo). Dijo que el viernes habría vuelto (antepospretérito).
Aparte, yo entiendo que el uso típico del condicional no es un pospretérito, sino precisamente el valor condicional en una apódosis (si no llevase paraguas me mojaría). Me vale que la prótasis toma un pretérito imperfecto del subjuntivo y es temporalmente anterior, pero muy a menudo tiene un valor de presente o incluso futuro. (Si vinieras mañana, comeríamos juntos).
Simplemente me sorprende porque antepospretérito por lógica (antes del después) parece una operación nula.
Yo tengo la sospecha de que Bello usó esa terminología para enseñar en América la Consecutio Temporum (concordancia de tiempos) al uso de España. En las Américas, los tiempos verbales se usan de forma diferente a España, y puede que el problema de mal uso del condicional en prótasis condicionales fuuera menor que otros problemas surgidos de la acomodación entre tiempos. En cualquier caso, en aquella época lo llamaban "potencial".
(Hay que recordar que el condicional no solo se usa en condicionales, sino también en concesivas —aunque mis profes me tiraron de las orejas cuando les dije que las concesivas son condicionales falsadas—, en peticiones, en expresiones "potenciales" que indican suposición referida al pasado —si se refiere al presente, va en futuro—, y en muchas otras ocasiones).
Claro, es verdad que el condicional tiene varios usos, como el propio presente.
Dicho esto, lo de las concesivas creo que también se sale del antepos, ya que la modalidad típica es utilizar el condicional frente a un presente: por mucho que llueva no usaría paraguas.
Por cierto, hoy en día ¿sigue habiendo oraciones bipolares, o se consideran subordinadas?

@Waxingtonknee I just don't understand why Apache is still distributing OpenOffice. I mean, they're one of the most important open source foundations, they're doing mostly heavy serious work. Why don't they just say "OpenOffice is over, stop using it, use LibreOffice" ?

@feld Since you really like FreeBSD, have you tried to get the chatmail relay working on something that isn't Debian? Since it's a bunch of Python bolted on top of Dovecot and Postfix, it seems like a pain to properly package and get working.
it's actually pretty simple, I just haven't sat down to finish it. It's just regular Postfix and Dovecot (though a single patch to Dovecot will help performance), OpenDKIM, and then a handful of python services that just need service/rc scripts written.
Once I write those scripts it would be as simple as "pkg install py-chatmaild", enabling services, and ensuring the Postfix/Dovecot configs adhere to the Chatmail specifications. Example configs could be provided with the package.
HOWEVER... there are efforts in other directions too. Someone has partially implemented the logic in Mox, the email stack written in Go. This would change the deployment to a single go binary plus Nginx. Then the entire Dovecot+Postfix+external-services stack can go away.
I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that the News tab in Nautilus from GNOME 1.4 (released in 2001) still shows current @lwn headlines/lwn.net still support whatever API/feed it's using.
