The entire #WhiteHouse #EastWing is demolished as #Trump moves forward with his #ballroom, AP photos show.
The East Wing, where #FirstLadies created #history, planned state dinners & promoted causes, is now history itself. The 2-story structure of drawing rooms & offices, including workspace for first ladies & their staffs, has been turned into rubble, demolished as part of Trump’s plan to build what he said is now a $300M ballroom nearly 2X the size of the White House.

I've been on the hunt for some accessible, easily self-hosted (on prem or datacenter) chat solution for a while now, and I've been looking very closely at deltachat/chatmail.
Not gonna lie, the fact that just uses mature SMTP facilities for transport is making me weirdly aroused.
If anyone has experience running their own chatmail server or just using deltachat in general, I'd be glad to hear from you.
I deploy mine with a Chef cookbook I maintain that is in sync with the official deployment tool. (actually it's slightly behind right now, I need to update a couple minor things but it's not important). Mostly because mine is ready to do DNS certificate validation, and it's significantly faster to install/deploy.
Additionally I have my server setup to auto update and reboot Debian as needed, so it's 100% hands off. It just runs. It reboots for maintenance and I never know anything happened (unless I look at my cron emails)

Fedora Linux now permits AI assisted contributions (code, docs and more), provided there is proper disclosure and transparency

Bad decision Fedora but it was expected when IBM/RedHat is basically fund it. Maybe that is what corporate client of RHEL/IBM wants. IDK. There are many other distros that bans AI/LLM but many contributions of Fedora ends up in upstream projects like Kernel or DEs.
Council Policy Proposal: Policy on AI-Assisted Contributions
Hi all, I wanted to share the outcome of today’s Council meeting regarding this proposal. After several weeks of discussion and incorporating feedback from our community into better revisions of the initial proposal, the Fedora Council has approved …Fedora Discussion
Human code reviewers of Fedora project can only address questions of quality, fix security issues, or address missing functionality in AI code slop. It cannot answer questions about legality or licensing or even trace origin like:
> Where did that AI code come from?
> What licensing does AI created slop follows? Can you put it under GPL?
> So who actually wrote the code? Why person submitting putting their name on top of it?
The answer is: Nobody knows.

KDE Plasma 6.5 released
KDE is on a roll lately, and keeps on rolling with today's release of KDE Plasma 6.5. As the project itself notes, this release focuses on relatively small improvements, refinements, and other niceties, without making any massive changes. With Linux desktops taking accessibility more seriously lately than ever before, I want to focus on the accessibility improvements first.

Someone sure can though, over a VoIP link, over an air distance of three feet, with a 57dB noise floor, through a Rode NT1-A, connected to a Mackie ProFX 12 V3.
It seems that something in my environment is constantly squealing at some untold high frequency. I'm not hearing it. They did.
This individual shall remain nameless, but they sure as hell have a gosh darn good ear! And mine suck!
Now I have to find this unheard squeal.
Got the seating plan for tomorrow's grand gala and awards ceremony (where I will get the gold medal) and I'm now busy googling my table neighbors to figure out the high society people I will get to rub myself with.
Around 700 guests are apparently coming to this fancy thing.
The GI Bill is often held up as one of America’s crowning achievements.
A symbol of fairness, opportunity, and gratitude toward those who served.
But that story, like so many others in this country, is a carefully curated myth.
The reality is that the GI Bill was designed to benefit white men.
It was written, structured, and enforced through systems, institutions, and policies that ensured whiteness remained the gateway to prosperity.
EDIT: Surprise! Trump lied. These may or may not all be willing donations.
🤬 some of them, but in the end, probably all.
"Apple, Amazon, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, Google, Coinbase, Comcast and Meta are just some of the major companies who have made donations to build President Donald Trump’s proposed 90,000-square-foot ballroom."

in reply to Cleverson • • •@clv0 it is adaptive: the longer since the last post in the feed, the less frequent the checks. i don't remember it off the top of my head; the values are specified as consts in the codebase.
fediverse users or the feeds themselves cannot influence this.
