Desert Bus 2024, Day 2. When Original Jordan (@RayFK) crosses Jordynne the Upgraded, Jordynne (@sick1y) makes her feelings known.

Had some fun trying to both get a good consistency of watercolour for calligraphy and mixing that "lightly oxidised blood" colour. India ink and watercolour, broad nib, on Strathmore parchment paper. Foundational hand and textura quadrata script.

#Yaga #mod for the #Gothic #game status update.
Recently the Open Gothic reimplementation of the ZenGin engine became quiet stable which let me to wonder whether it wouldn’t be easier to port YAGA to this engine, instead of relying on the Union SDK which is basically a set of reverse-engineered classes of the original ZenGin engine. This way, we get macOS compatibility, future-proof support for future Windows releases, ETC. That means a lot of Yaga’s code base would have to be rewritten from scratch, but that’s with the benefit.
Tell me what you guys think, and let’s comment on this issue if you have some valuable insights

Many folks seemed to like my demonstration of the mod for the #gothic #game by #piranchaBytes that allows #blind players to play! So now we have a little follow-up, maybe not something as exciting as the previous time, but no less important. The Smart Map feature allows the blind player to observe the 3D game surrounding in a 2D environment. Since the world of Gothic is pretty complicated with all kinds of polygons living inside it, we needed to make the map a bit simpler but no less functional. And so the Smart Map feature was born; it cuts the world to little squares, 500 X 500 in size, which can be navigated by the player allowing them to see what is going on in nearby sectors. Since Gothic uses the so called Waynet which is used for NPCs to know where we're going, we have a seemingly free pathfinding as well which, thanks to the limitations of #ZenGin is not as simple as I initially thought. Spread the word about YAGA! Thanks the great modders who contributedt his feature. #gaming #accessibility #a11y #gothic #rpg

A little demo of my #Gothic #blind #accessibility #mod. If anyone here knows what #Gothic by #PiranhaBytes is and wants to help me (maybe)? Feel free to drop me a mention!
P.S. The polish version of the game is the only version I own, hence the Polish demo.

Not many people heard of In Extremo, a German folk-metal band. Actually I wouldn't either if not for the #Gothic game. Then I started listening to them and I fell in love with their music! They did an amazing job, with for example Herr Mannelig taht is a Swedish ballad from the 19th century. Even the lyrics are comprehensible :).

The cathedral of Laon has got the best non-chimeric animal sculptures I've ever seen. There are 16 oxen that look slightly stoned (pun not intended). There is no documentation why those common beats of burden are such a dominant feature, only a medieval legend about their miraculous help during construction. #MedievalSculpture #gothic
