Relax 😎! GPG is not OpenPGP!

Yesterday, vulnerabilities were published gpg.fail but they don't affect #deltachat or other #chatmail clients because

A) We never used #gnupg for anything; we use the modern #rustlang #openpgp implementation @rpgp, security audited multiple times.

B) #openpgp is fine, as modernized in #RFC9580, which already warns against several #gpgfail issues (gpg didn't implement that spec)

Please spread the word that #gpg is not #openpgp ... Thanks! #39c3

sorry, but no. gnupgp UX sucks so hard that even I don't get it without extensive internet searching.

And I heard horrible stuff about integration into programs, like that they need to kill the #gpg daemon regularly to make it work.

Let's rather invest our efforts into making modern alternatives like #rpgp and #rsop
crates.io/crates/rsop/ great.

Everybody should learn how to use GPG.

Ich liebe mein encrypt.to-Formular. Habe durch keine Maßnahme so viele verschlüsselte Mails bekommen wie dadurch. Eigentlich sollten alle Kontaktformulare für Seelsorger:innen so gebaut sein (jaja, man wird ja wohl noch träumen dürfen).

LibreOffice supports digital signatures via GnuPG for OpenDocument Format (ODF) files.

Select: File > Digital Signatures > Digital Signatures > Sign Document > Select Certificate > Sign > Enter Password > OK > Close

A banner will appear stating the document is digitally signed.

Select File > Save/Save As

The "Save with password" option encrypts the file with AES-256.
The "Encrypt with GPG key" option encrypts the file with a public key.
