@hub we crossed the border at Cape Canaveral a couple of months ago. 3200 cruise passengers, it was pretty... cruisey. i suspect we were considered low risk.
however, it is a big planet. i don't need the stress of crossing that border again without the US wanting to welcome foreigners again.

Er enthielt Inspiration Exploitation, extrem unsaubere und fehlerhafte Ausführungen zu den WCAG, illegale und behinderten Schadende Rätschläge, und einen gänzlich fehlenden Blick für die Systematik.
Insgesamt war er leider dem CCC in keinster Weise würdig. Leider ist er innerhalb der letzten Stunden zu einem der meistgesehenen Talks zum Thema überhaupt geworden.

Just going to put this out there. If someone posts a workaround for a thing that might be giving people trouble and you don't do it, that's fine, but the lecture about oh well you're just putting off what's going to happen isn't helpful. Also, if said workaround involves tampering with software, it's of course common sense to use caution but again, lecture not needed. Nobody is forcing workaround for anything down anyone's throat, and there's no reason to get weird if someone decides to post about using said workarounds. Do or don't, but save the lecture. Konec roku, dnes poslední letošní cesta do Londýna, tak jsem si stáhl výpis z tachografu, abych viděl, kolik jsem toho letos najezdil. Asi budu muset vzít ještě jeden overtime, abych těch 100k dorazil. I když tohle je jen tachograf. K tomu auto, tak to už mám splněno
@Kipe @OttovonWenkoff Já nevím, jako ujel bych to to neříkám, ale já bych byl po těch kilometrech byl jeden den kaput. Mně stačilo to ježdění po Bavorsko. Jasný ono je i něco jiného být 8 hodin v práci a pak jet 400 km z Garmisch-Partenkirchen, ale i tak. Někomu to tak asi nevadí.
@archos I cesta bývá cíl 😉 HR v pohodě přes noc, Francie s přenocováním u Strasbourgu a ráno dolů do Provence a Švédsko jen do Växjö. Odtud se pak výletilo na všechny strany. Tohle je pro mě v pohodě. Zatím. 😉
When ChatGPT was released 3 years ago I never anticipated how it could become a source of tensions with people in my life.
So to add to its many damages, it's a source of:
- environmental catastrophe - economic bubble - monumental job losses with bosses leaning into AI and laying off workers - loss of critical thinking - destruction of higher ED methods - further isolation with people using AI characters as "romantic partners" - dangerous medical advice (especially with reliance on it for mental health support)
(I'm probably forgetting other important things)
AND:
source of tensions inside homes and with friends when you have a person critical of AI (🙋♀️) attempting to reason with a person whose default setting is: "I'll ask ChatGPT". Pointing out flagrant mistakes by AI seems to make their heads explode and get angry at the messenger. Ouf.
Sorry for the downer but I'm sure this is a pretty common problem...

i had an interesting interaction with my father (almost 70) this weekend. my aunt has apparently been telling him how great chatgpt is so he gave it a try. but he started by asking things he knew the answers to and came to the conclusion it's useless. once i explained what it is under the hood he was annoyed he had even tried

I adore the VoiceOver feature that causes activities to trigger later than you wanted them to, for example by switching to a voice for code snippets only for the text *after* the end of a <code> element.
I enjoy it so much that I'm considering making an NVDA add-on to introduce the same level of inaccuracy to config profiles. Imagine your Notepad settings only being applied after Alt-Tabbing away from Notepad, or your say all settings only being activated after resuming manual reading. Game changer.
