@sandro there is a long trail history how openpgp evolved. We didn't mean to fully educate about this 20+ years history, just highlight that modern #openpgp #rfc9580 and #rpgp is pretty fine. Nevertheless, rpgp authors will carefully look if anything in #gpgfail could be an issue. Details haven't been fully published yet.

If anyone is confused, multiple vulnerabilities were found in GPG. The author ignored them for several months, then posted a gas lighting message not to use a certain function instead of patching it. Get ready for the book length gas lighting response of all the other issues that were found.
@SnowBlind2005 We just tried to note that so far we see no way how delta chat and it's end to end encryption guarantees would be affected by gpgfail. What is confusing about that?
@m yes, rpgp folks are checking this in more detail. It's relatively certain, though, that deltachat's intentionally minimal usage of openpgp (and rpgp) is not touching the problematic code paths and issues identified in gpgfail. Give it a bit of time. There was no upfront disclosure of anything to rpgp folks, and it's Sunday in a see of holidays around, and #39c3 is still ongoing.

Can you go a bit into detail why you think Deltachat (or its underlying library) is safe against the mentioned gpg.fail attacks?
@jan once details are published, and #39c3 is over, well take another look. But note that #deltachat's usage of #openpgp is intentionally minimal. #Gpgfail is a lot about failures of signature verification, and parsing problems in the gpg c-implementation but #deltachat doesn't use these mechanisms or code at all. The @rpgp folks are still studying the details, and there might be issues, so maybe also follow them for more details. Again, this doesn't affect deltachat as things stand.

Average income per person is an extremely misleading metric in that context. At the beginning of the 20th century, the average "effective income" of a person was much lower as it is now, as there was usually 1 working person per couple, where now you have 2.

OK, this is genuinely scary. It's a picture of me, aged 5. It was taken in 1960. It was scanned and uploaded to Google Photos in 2002. No one has told Google where it was taken. But the map, bottom right, is correct.

My friend is subscribed to this service called drama box. It is basically movies that are divided up into tiny episodes and you have to spend coins to continue watching them. Not only is the iPhone app an accessibility nightmare, but the acting in most of the movies is so horrible and overdone. I would never hurt her feelings by telling her that because she is totally obsessed and addicted, but it’s just the truth. Also there is no audio description, although most of the time the plots are so predictable you can figure out what’s happening.
think one time a podcast mentione this service, that I listen to. Good to know a bit more. I think the idea is that it is low budget and that allows more starting actors to get into acting in general, so these services have their place too. Their idea is that by making it smaller bites and lower budget there's not as much loss if a show does poorly, and if it does well, it can make back the money it cost to produce quite easily. We'll see how it works out in the longterm though.
Still so sad about the broken Cadence. I can barely do anything from how much guilt my soul and conscience is racked with. How could I drop it off my bed and break it. How could I be such a fool during errands to just slip it in my bag without a secondary protection around it like a case. Ugh ugh. So, what do I do when I'm guilty, record more videos. Made another one for the Tactile Engineering folks about it, even though it's late at night, guilt consumes my soul. Will probably send that one tomorrow, no point sending an e-mail this late. The only way this could be worse is if the right display also broke. Both fell together, but the right one is perfectly OK. Things could always be worse which is what I'm trying to take comfort in.
@amir haha. I think if it were something smaller like a radio or my HP laptop which has had its fair share of cracked touch screens and falling out trackpads, I'd feel it way less. It being like, a $5000 device makes me extra guilty. It doesn't help that as a kid I used to break my Braillers all the time and get punished for it, back then they used a wheel with a thread inside and I'd spin up the wheel to unravel it all. Now, 20 years later it's funny, similar feeling but the story is magnets that come out of alignment more so than a thread spool.
Yeah - childhood memories and experiences! And regardless of the price (and I do understand your point), things like that happen. When they do, they don’t really take the price point into account. I also remember dropping a Perkins Brailler about 20 years ago. Not as pricey as yours, but at the time it was a hugely treasured item.
@jstark @amir LOL! One time I did trip my Braille teacher down a flight of stairs whilst she was holding my Brailler. Oh my gosh, will never forget that. The Brailler survived with only some minor bends on the paper tray, but the teacher, well, she had to go to the nurse and later the doctor for a broken ankle. Oof. Never gonna forget that moment, the huge thunk it all made.
Frankly none of them are, on Mac or otherwise. I don't have experience with Gemini CLI specifically, but with most agents, you're best off with TDSR in quiet mode, probably with cursor tracking off to review output as it comes in.
You should also commit / stage often so that you can use `git diff` to see latest changes. I'm on the Jujutsu VCS instead of the native git cli, which honestly makes this a lot easier.
@miki Yes, I just use in yolo mode. gemini -y. It doesn't ask any question until it finishes stuff. Also Gemini-cli has screen reader mode. Set screenReader to true under UI > Accessibility.

Sick of complaints about my keyboard resonating through my mic. I'm not going to deny that my setup isn't the best thing in the world. But face the facts. There's literally a volume slider on your end! Use it and take some responsibility for your own listening experience instead of making it my problem. It'll reach a point where I won't do anything. The one thing I wish #QuantumFiber supported was static IPv4/IPv6 allocations. They have a business service offering, but it provides literally no extra benefits like static IP addresses. It simply marks the account as "used for business purposes" and changes how the billing process is performed.

Komplete Kontrol users using DAWs other than REAPER with KK DAW integration (Logic, etc.), can you please tell me what turning the 4d encoder does in plugin mode? Does it move by grid unit (e.g. measure, beat, etc.) or does it scrub in small time amounts more like a surface? I've had a number of requests to make ReaKontrol move by grid instead, but I thought other DAWs behave more like scrubbing and I think this should ideally be consistent between DAWs.
These vague "something went wrong" error messages are ubiquitous, and I don't like them. Even GNOME has them. I'm getting a message on my phone saying that "a problem repeatedly occurred" opening a web page. It gives me no indication whatsoever of what kind of problem might have occurred. I was envisioning a broken link. Then I looked at my tabs in Safari and saw "Webpage crash." So, apparently, if Safari tells me that "a problem repeatedly occurred" when opening a web page, then it means that WebKit crashed. And I'm using VoiceOver, which presumably makes crashes more likely for me, although this is the first time I can recall experiencing one on IOS, and I have no idea if it is accessibility-related or not. (And, yes, I tried updating IOS, and it didn't make any difference.)
I'm potentially going to do several things with this bit of audio, one of which might be showing my age even though I'm really not all that old though it sure feels like it. This background music slapped and weirdly fit this game. I'm surprised this is still being sold.
