@Friendica Support There have been quite a few changes around post reaction icons in the past 2 years.

github.com/friendica/friendica… has been closed and a remaining issue is tracked as github.com/friendica/friendica…

This seems like low hanging fruit with huge UX impact and win. @Damian Wajer maybe one for you?

I was surprised at my phone ringing last night, until I realised I got a real non-test push notification from the experimental fork of Nextcloud made by Niklas Reimer. It uses @unifiedpush in the #foss and @fdroidorg compatible version of Nextcloud, and notifications don't go through Google Services or the Nextcloud Push gateway.

Something very exciting is coming!

Russia must be held accountable in court for the brutal destruction it is causing.

On the European Day for Victims Against Crime, we reaffirm our support for investigating Russia’s war crimes in Ukraine.

Together with the International Criminal Court, Ukraine and EU countries, the EU is collecting evidence and we support setting up an international centre to coordinate the investigations.

Justice must be done.

The idea that canonical needs to maintain clear communication about what is "supported" is hilariously ironic since they, like many other distros, create the walls over which users must climb in order to access upstream support services. Basically they like to pretend the only work that's valuable is their work, the only relationships are their relationships and everyone else's work is incidental and requires no deep relationship with the user.

Responsibility 1/10

@LinuxClaude Except they aren't—for instance, Elementary has their own store. Let alone the fact that anybody can write a frontend, because the whole thing is public. Then again, this *has nothing to do with Flatpak*. The issue is Canonical forcing the hand of community projects just because they own the infrastructure.

I understand you've invested time and effort into making Ubuntu your whole personality, but at this point you're verging towards stan territory.

A well-written, clear look at what it means for Adobe apps to drop support for Type-1 fonts: typenetwork.com/articles/the-e…

This is stuff that FOSS app folks should consider, too; such as the fact that eliminating the character-limits of old T1 fonts means drop-in replacements may alter documents by reflow, EVEN IF the change is an improvement because of things like better kerning.

Also interesting to see the "export your last-century docs to PDF before switching if you're worried" advice.... 🤔

While we are at it did you all know there is an #MP3DirectCut for #Android that is accessible too?
mpesch3.de/mp3directcut-androi…
For cutting MP3 and AAC files I prefer MP3DirectCut as it also supports losless volume normalization and fading.
#LoslessCut uses #ffmpeg under the hood and I like to use it for other file types, for generating chapters, working with cue files, concatenating tracks, syncing audio in video files and similar.

recipe recommendation

I made this "Stuck pot rice" (lentils and rice) over the weekend and oh my gosh it tastes really good and it's really comforting and filling. I'm eating it with a dollop of yogurt. Veggies on the side.

Bit of a an odd mood to today so wanted to check if I can brighten things up a bit by adding some color and transparency to #phosh. (Basically just a quick hack to see how the performance is on the #librem5 and it's quite good). Background image by @francois .

in reply to Guido Günther

I felt a bit bad since I didn't show #phosh's overview in the above (which was totally broken at that point). So I did a quick stab yesterday to hack the missing bits in. It's usable now (still mostly a hack to get into the design discussion with @purism 's designers):

Reddit: "My friend is in university and taking a history class. The professor is using ChatGPT to write essays on the history topics and the students need to mark up its essays and point out where ChatGPT is wrong and correct it."

Honestly, this is great! The students learn to check sources, discover that ChatGPT is unreliable, *and* can't use it to generate essay question answers for them, all at the same time!
