@NVAccess I understand your concern, but I cannot change the names of listed securities on stock exchanges when I need to discuss them explicitly. If I search for NVDA, I only find NVIDIA’s stock quotes , not your product NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) , which has been listed since 1999. Similarly, searching for Blender yields unrelated results. However, I rarely mention these, so it might happen once or twice a year, I will try if can avoid.

Interestingly, we don't. I think that while a couple of accounts like yours, post now & then on NVIDIA with NVDA as a hashtag, no-one who actually follows or searches for hashtags would ever look for NVDA for information on NVIDIA - and really that is the ENTIRE point of hashtags - and why I saw your post in the first place. We see dozens to hundreds of messages a week using #NVDA to talk about the screen reader - which is why I reached out, so we DON'T pollute each other's feeds.

Yes you'll still be able to host your own. Actually @jscholes and @KaraLG84 were talking about this just the other day and are probably more familiar with the process offhand
You can host your own within NVDA by selecting "Server" from the first group of radio buttons inside the Connect dialog. That is most appropriate setup for controlling systems on your own local network, and is what we were discussing recently.
As for hosting a separate relay that is accessible to multiple people on the internet, I have no experience with that. @jonathan859 @KaraLG84
Content creators: I know you have other things to worry about, but could you please back off on the amount of audio noise reduction you use? Unless you're in a noisy environment, it's not necessary. The default preset for it is usually way too heavy-handed, and sucks all the life out of your audio. Be sure to install and configure toot. it's a command line Mastodon client that also works with Pleroma. It is what handles actually posting to your timeline.
@tschapajew You don't need to run the script manually. Just do your normal git work flow, when you push, the hook will run and it will post the commit assuming everything is set up correctly.

@rommix0 lol to me, it's more about this idea that AI has been around for 3 years now, and we're still not accepting this idea that they'll always be just autocompletion machines and won't magically leap to creating their own art from scratch until they move beyond that. Which, we know transformer-based models simply won't, otherwise AI companies wouldn't be so hell-bent on sourcing synthetic data or crawling more of the web without permission. So we yell and shout when AI violates copyright, fully knowing that every prompt is autocompleted. LOL. Also by that proxy, even the Slack messages I used AI to help me write and shorten my rambling thoughts is also using stolen material of word fragments from elsewhere, so nothing you do can avoid it.

I suspect it's why I'm also not against those new types of web crawlers that foil AI systems into a honeypot of fake links with garbage text, it's a way to reclaim at least some power for the creators. We could extend that to any other branch of it (like gobbling up torrented books Meta did too) and so to me it's a lot more valid to argue against AI on that notion of power and control rather than how it regurgitates what it knows.
